anybody familiar with Charleston?

We are going to WDW in September from Winnipeg. We are flying to New Orleans and then renting a car for the duration of the trip. We will be touring Charleston and Daytona Beach before going to WDW and then New Orleans on the way back. We have been to both Charleston and NOLA briefly on past trips, but don't know either place well. Does anybody know any of these cities well enough for advice on must dos? We would love advice from an actual person rather than just travel websites.
