We leave in just 2 days!! :cool1:

Current plan is to leave around 6am, will pack drinks & snacks for the drive, getting us into the LA area around noon.

Thought we would stop by the soda fountain for lunch. Anybody ever done that? Thoughts?
Or, grab lunch at some other spot & maye just go for some ice cream?

The Disney Soda Fountain is very good! Awesome ambience and the ice cream is delicious. I've only eaten lunch there once, though. I had a pastrami sandwich and it was pretty tasty. Hope you have fun!

Yes juliebug it is! On Hollywood Blvd.

Thank you, guess we will keep it in our plans :)

Yes! We were just there a couple of weeks ago for the first time! Loved it. We went specifically for the LE pins you can get at the soda shop store. The food was good, standard stuff you could get at a Disney counter service style restaurant. DS had a mickey waffle, I had the baked chicken tender basket (yummy) and DH just wanted ice cream. He had the Pin Trader sundae that came with a pin.

It was our first time on Hollywood Blvd. It was interesting to say the least. :scared:

That is our plan too. We leave Sunday. Stoping there for lunch on our way to Disneyland.

And a side question: Parking? Is the Hollywood & Highland the best place?

Sorry I have nothing to offer as we have never been there but we plan to do the same in October so I am looking forward to reading the responses to this thread! :)

We are leaving in two days too around 6am. Lol lol.

I didn't actually eat here but stopped here when we did the Lights Camera Magic tour. I liked that they had Disney merchandise unique to the Soda Shoppe. I didn't even look at the real menu but the ice cream menu looked great.

Yes, the Hollywood and Highland parking structure is pretty cheap. The first two hours are free and after that I believe it's only 2 dollars for each additional hour.

We had lunch and ice cream at the soda fountain in March after our Wonder cruise. I briefly covered it (including a few pictures) in my trip report. The link is in my signature, and it should be on the last page. Have fun!

Very cool. Thanks for sharing. I so want to go to Disney's soda fountain. I'm planning to do 2 1/2 days at the beginning of our california trip to see Hollywood and Universal studios. I want to do a tour such as TMZ and the pick up area for most of the tours is Graumans Chinese theater which is in the same area. I love the pics of the Disney related stars. I so want to do that too.

You have to go! We went in June this year and had lunch. It was so much fun. My son is a pin trader so, he had the pin traders delight, you get a delicious sundae and a pin. It's a must for any Disney person!

Food menu is a bit short, but the Chicken Cesear salad I had and the French Dip my DW had were pretty good.

The Ice Cream is the real star. I had the black & white sundae and it was oozy and wonderful. DW made her own sunday with carmel and nuts, I believe.

The Pin sundae is very popular. The gift shop is part is very small and not a lot of unique stuff.

El Capitan theater is right next door.

I had never heard of the soda fountain either. Looks very cool!

Will be visiting for sure on our trip in October.
