I was wondering how you catch or find the bugs/insect & how do you get art for the museum???

I rented it at Blockbuster & it is driving me nuts...:o

I got the fishing thing down..:smooth:

Have no idea - never heard of that game.
From your title I thought you had hit another raccoon with the car!

I haven't even found a bug to catch yet Todd... driving me nuts. I am playing it right now though. Still waiting for a fishing pole to go fishing. Here's a nice FAQ that will help out with that though.

I will say I have just been selling the fossils like crazy instead of giving them all the museum. I'd like to get the rest of my $50K paid off before I start giving those items to the museum.

We've been playing this game for months. There aren't many bugs right now due to the season. Come spring/summer/fall, you won't be able to walk 10 feet without seeing a bug or two. For now, you can either wait, reset the date, or go around shaking trees, sometimes a bug will fall out. Just watch out for bees!!

Don't be in a rush to pay off your house as it will then be remodeled and you'll owe an even bigger balance.

You can get some cool things by offering to do tasks for the townspeople. When you have accomplished the task, they will give you something. Sometimes it is a piece of fruit that is not native to your town and when this happens PLANT IT! Foreign fruit is worth much more to sell than your native fruit.

Oh, I could go on all day about tips for this game. Any specific questions?

Peggy

IT's So addicting..
It has today's date and there is snow on the ground, so that explains why there aren't any bugs...
I am catching a lot of fish, no bees yet...

Elaine, Mail them fossils TO THE MUSEUM!!!!!!!!!!

Pam--don't jinx me..

Peg2001--it's neat isn't it??:smooth:

Ritaz--thanks!!

I've heard this is a great game but haven't really looked into it. Can anybody give me a brief synopsis of how it works? What is the ultimate "goal"? Would it be appropriate for a 7 year old boy?

Thanks!

Santa brought the Game Cube for Christmas and so far DS7 only has 2 games (Scooby Doo & Sunshine Mario). Anybody got any other good recommendations for us for the Game Cube? Our next game purchase will probably be Smash Brothers as we need to get a multi-player game.

Sorry to derail your thread Shep, just thought I would jump on for Game cube input.

Sonya Francisco:

We love Monsters Inc. It is a multi-player game, where the four of us can all play at one time. It is really neat.

We are currently trying to find another age appropriate multi player game and we aren't having a whole lot of luck. I've heard Mario Party 4 is pretty good.

Take care.

I would like to know of some good games also...
Mario Party 4 is neat..:)
Super Smash Brothers Melee is fun too..:)

I've got my DS11 (Matt) here. He says

"For Animal Crossing - you need a butterfly net to catch the bugs. For better bugs you want it to be raining and early in the morning.
Spring & summer has better bugs. You can catch bees with the butterfly net. It's difficult, but it give you 4,500 bells.

Turnips is gold because if you sell them at the right price (under other thing when you talk to Nook) you can get alot of money. Joanne sells turnips for 6 am - noon on Sunday.

Super Smash Bro. Melee, Mario Party 4, and Lugie's Mansion are fun games."

So......somebody tell me what you are trying to do in this Animal Crossing game. What do you need to accomplish to "win" the game.

Bumping up for some more Game Cube Game suggestions too!

Sonya

The neat thing about Animal Crossing is that you do NOT win or lose. You do daily living type things (talking to neighbors, fishing, visiting the museum, shopping, furnishing your house, etc.) There are many many surprises as things change daily and through the seasons. For example, there are some fish that can only be caught in September. . .if you don't play year-round, you'll miss out on stuff. Try playing around the different holidays, too.

This game is wonderful for young children who are old enough to handle the controller. My DD6 won't play most games were you either win or lose but she loves Animal Crossing.

Peggy, I am already on my second house and I am not sure if I really want to remodel this one or not... do you think it is worth it to remodel a 2nd time?

Todd, I am greedy... I'm selling those fossils :p Actually half the time I sell and half the time I give to the museum. I have already gotten a few repeats so I definitely sold those. Oh in case you are wondering, this is the only other thing I did besides sleep and DIS since I got the game on the 26th. I have even created a second city with another person that I don't work to hard with just so I can sell the fruit for 500 bells instead of the 100.

I also think that Super Smash Brothers Melee is fun and honestly my family has a ball with Super Monkey Ball as well :)

Well, I don't want to ruin anything for you, but you don't have a choice about remodeling. If you tell Nook "no," he insists that you want it remodeled and goes ahead and does it anyway.

I thought I was the only adult addictued to Animal Crossing. :o I've been playing like crazy since my daughter got the game on Christmas.

I haven't been able to find many bugs either Shep. There's some butterflies on the island (if you have a GBA) and sometimes some will run out when you bang a rock with a shovel.

Here's my tips -- When you find one of the golden spots that have $1,000 in them, re-bury the money and a money tree will grow. Even better is to re-bury a shovel (you'll need 2 shovels for this) and you'll grow a golden shovel tree. The golden shovel will never break and more importantly it gives you good luck when you're digging. For instance, you find gold in about every 4-5 random digs. (vs. virtually none for a regular shovel).
