I've never been to Blizzard Beach or TL. I like water parks but have never been by myself always with my kids. I am thinking about adding a water park to my solo birthday trip. Please share any experiences positive or negative to help me decide.

I've gone to both water parks solo and enjoyed both a lot. I think I prefer Typhoon Lagoon because of the wave pool and Crush-n-Gusher. Blizzard Beach seems to be more popular with the kids because it has more thrill slides, like Summit Plummit. I tried that once and it HURT! It felt like hundreds of pins poking into me by the time I got to the bottom. Both parks have a lazy creek innertube ride. Just hop on a tube and float along around the park.
One additional thing about Blizzard Beach is that Winter Summerland Mini-Golf is right next to it, if you like mini-golf.

Technically I have never gone alone but I end up alone! Single Mom of two boys who head off to do the fast/scary stuff while I float around the lazy river or play in the wave pool. Lot's of fun!!!

We're going in September, just me and my wife, no kids. I love the water but my wife is hydrophobic. I'd love to go to one of the water parks while she's at the spa, but I'm nervous about being a single adult male at a waterpark. It's not that I blame people for being cautious, but I don't want to make people nervous, nor do I want to be shadowed by security. Should I just use the hotel pool, or stay indoors?
