Anybody else make this mistake?

It will be the greatest cruise you have been on, the concierge team will make sure of that.

I’m so glad you loved it.

But just like I don’t say that everyone won’t fall in LOOOVE with concierge, it would be nice to have the statement you made watered down a bit.

We’ve done two concierge and two non concierge in Disney, and the nons were JUST AS GOOD as the concierges.

And we appreciate royal more than Disney because for us it’s the same in most ways, better in others, and so much less expensive than dcl.

Well... Good luck dealing with hedonistic adaptation. ;)

All jokes apart, on the bright side, I keep reading that other cruise lines give you more in Concierge for less money so maybe you'll save money when your daughter outgrow Disney.

Were you sailing concierge on the cheap cruise line?

I’m not sure I’m going to “outgrow” Disney. I’m 54 and I just convinced my 18 year old daughter to go on a 3 day at the end of next month.

As I said in my recount of our first Concierge experience on Disney cruise line, my wife and daughter were hooked but my wife wanted to see what other cruise lines concierge rooms/services were like. Last year we sailed on a cruise out of Boston into Canada.(I am not going to name the cruise line). We went concierge level and had high expectations. My wife warned us not to compare it to Disney but to keep an open mind. The staff was friendly but did not offer the service that we came to expect. Some of the perks, we had to discover on our own and missed out on due to not knowing about them. After that cruise we sat down and decided that it was not worth the extra cost on that cruise line. While we were on that cruise we went online and booked a Disney cruise for this year for us and our grown daughter and her family. We book 2 veranda staterooms. On the way back home we decided that as a surprise we would upgrade both rooms to concierge and see how long it took them to notice. (we paid the difference). Our daughter called one day and was laughing saying that Disney had made a mistake and listed her family in the wrong room. My wife could not keep the secret and spilled the beans. Both my wife and daughter have been planning ever since. Now we are a little more than 100 days out and grand daughter is working on he potty training so she can go on "Diz Boat" (she is 2). Grand son is only 1 and he just like riding on the tractor so I don't think his opinion counts yet. The youngest daughter has her days already planed. I remember our 1st Disney cruise, it was just the youngest daughter and me, I couldn't get her out of the club. She would go there after breakfast and not want to leave. When she got back to the room, it was bath time then she would pass out until then next morning. Yes it is expensive, but to see the smiles and hear the stories from the kids is worth every penny.

Value of concierge is completely subjective and it sounds like, for your family, it's so worth just as it is for mine. For others? No so much. And you know what? That's ok! It's up to the individual how they spend their vacation money :)

Your comments about going concierge on another cruiseline... we had a similar experience when we did that last year. It was a nice time and there were certainly some things that I found nicer than DCL - 'concierge' areas of the ship the omg spa. But for the most part? We found ourselves missing DCL and the level of service received there by the concierge staff.

Our first cruise with DCL was Concierge. Our experience was similar in that they handled everything. It was wonderful. There were lots of little perks! The day before CC, we even ended up with a Cabana!!! Talk about SPOILED!!!
