Anybody else hate the way Google "fades in", now?

Oh, that's annoying. I wonder why they're doing that now?

What I read was that the site's search bar appears more quickly this way, and since most people want to search, this is "better". :sad2:

I use google quite often every day.. Just googled something a few minutes ago.. I'm not seeing any "fade"..:confused3

OK, well hit google then don't move your mouse. Now go to your gmail, maps, images, etc...oh wait they are not there unless you move your mouse.

I use gmail so I notice it when I go to click on the gmail logo and it is not there unless I have moved my mouse. Same with directions. I went to go to directions yesterday and it is like DOH! I think it has sunk in after this thread. Now I can move on....:lmao:

I don't care. I mean, I have to move my mouse to use it anyway. So the options don't appear until I start to move the mouse...no biggie.

I'm still getting nothing..:confused3 So I guess in that case, I really can't say if it bothers me or not.. LOL.. :santa:

I never noticed it before. I just did though, now that I'm looking for it. I guess I can't say it bothers me if I hadn't even noticed it though.

I can't see it. It must be really fast.

No it is "not fast".

We are talking about the prompts in the upper left corner that say....Web, Images, Videos, Map, News, Shopping, Gmail, more.... & the prompts on the right. Plus the stuff below the search box.

If you do not move your mouse they are not there. Once you move the mouse they fade in.

The fade is quick, but it doesn't start until I am on the site for about 2 seconds.

Thought there was something wrong with my computer the first few times it happened. Don't like it at all.

Yeah, it bugs me too. I thought something was wrong with my computer the first time it happened!:rolleyes:

Ditto, double ditto, triple ditto. LOL

Guess I'm not *most* people then. Did they do a survey on it? If they did I would have told 'em to just stop doing that! :p

OK, I never recognized the mouse movement connection. :rotfl:

I still don't see it. My entire Google page loads immediately, regardless of whether I am using my mouse.

Well, the fade is very fast for me. The most minute mouse movement and they are there instantly.

Actually we did a similar JS fade-in effect for our site ( aigloo.com ) and submitted our pages to Google a few weeks before Google publicly showed their own new page.

Maybe they got some kind of inspiration...

We've made some changes to our computer, and I thought the "slowness" was a result of something we did. Grrrrrr. Even though it happens fast, I noticed it because it didn't happen before.

Why do sites mess with stuff at the same time we make changes?
