Hoping DCL will go to Asia after new ships come on board. I’ve been eyeing Japan cruises and wondered if anyone on this board has done one, and if so, how you liked it and if you made any trip reports or blogs about your experience. Thanks!
Try over on Cruisecritic. There are surely trip reports there. I lived in Japan for 2 years, 20 years ago, and the family is going back for a land trip December 2020. No cruising experience there, though.

We were initially booked for this coming summer (2020), but had to back out after seeing the hotel prices and expected crowd levels due to the Olympics. On to 2021, we are still debating whether to do it in the summer amidst the festivals and school holidays or April for the cherry blossom. But, it's coming.
I can so see that! I've learned to read between the lines on CC, and sometimes check out other posts from the same poster. Helps with perspective.
In general, I don't think seeing an island (of any sort) via a cruise is the way to go. I can see if it were a pan-Asian cruise how that would be helpful. Japan is very easy to get around, as they have an awesome train system.
