Anybody cruised on P&O Adonia?

Hi all
I've cruised with DCL 4 times and going for a 5th time on the Magic in July. However I got a cheap deal for easter for Adonia - 7 nights Med cruise for £569. Anybody ever cruise on her or even on P&O? Kind of nervous to the differences between this cruise and DCL - any advice would be very welcome!

We have cruised with P&O 6 times with the 7th in 5 weeks time on Oceana. She is the sister ship to Adonia and is identical except Adonia is adult only.

The standards are high but you won't find the "fun" you'd see on DCL. There are usually 2 formal nights per week and very few will opt out of this, in fact the restaurants are supposed to deny entrance to guests not suitably attired.

As Adonia is an adult only ship, you will find the average age is older than DCL. We are in our early 50's and we love P&O. The price you have quoted is very cheap indeed, we usually pay around £2000pp for a 2 week cruise so give it a try and let us know how you get on.

Thank you so much. It is the cheapest cabin we are in but that is all we are used to on DCL. Don't mind formal nights - just will have to be careful packing as we are flying down. I am taking Mum who is 71 - she just loves DCL but is willing to try this one!

We cruised P&O on the old Arcadia before she became the Ocean Village, we loved it and I wasnt looking forward to it at all. We took the boys who were 3 and 6 at the time and were with my parents (60's). I wouldnt hesitate to sail with them again, although I found the food to be typically british - we had brussels sprouts and cabbage as our choice of veg at dinner one night!
We sail on the Wonder next month so it will be interesting to compare.

After DCL, you will notice a big difference in the 'British-ness' of the cruise (more formality, more structured entertainment, not quite the same eager-to-please style) and the cuisine (although P&O also specialise in some great curry buffets), and the age range, as mentioned, will be very different. The ship will probably be a lot quieter at night, but she is a very smart, nearly-new vessel (the same age as the Disney Magic), and she will be on one of her last voyages for P&O before she transfers (back) to Princess Cruises. And, at that price, she is an absolute steal!

Really looking forward to it - yes it will be different but then it is good to try different things! Just booked to stay at the DeVere Grand Hotel - got that for £106 including breakfast!
