I called Disney yesterday to book our trip and asked about a AAA discount. She said i had to do that through AAA directly, and said it was well worth it.

Well, Disney quoted me $2407, AAA quoted me 2495, and online quote was 2701. I need to get breakdowns to see where the differences are.

anyway, if I do book through AAA, does Disney still have all my info? Like when I call to make ADR's will they have all my information? or will it be like having 2 separate ressies? one with aaa and another with Disney?

At this point, AAA is not even low price, but if I do go with them, just wondered.

I booked through AAA and saved money. Actually, I purchased AAA for the Disney discount (now, I like the piece of mind AAA offers).

I booked my package with AAA online. I was not charged a fee, but I have been told that some local AAA offices charge a fee.

You will have a normal reservation number. The info AAA gives you is straight from Disney.

If you are booking a PACKAGE the only way to get a AAA discount is through AAA. If you are booking a ROOM ONLY anyone can apply the AAA discount.

If you book through AAA, you will also get a parking pass and a discount card (discounts at some stores and restaurants). I'm not sure if that's important to you or now.

I have been dealing with AAA this last week so I have experience! hehe!

Anyway, when you call you need to tell the AAA agent that you want a room that has a discount w/ the package. What the people do is put you on hold and call Disney. Disney quotes them a price. If there are no more blocked rooms for a AAA discount then the price will not be any different than if you just booked through Disney. We were booked at Fort Wilderness as a pkg but now my parents are going. So, I called AAA and told him that I would like POR. The price was not discounted so I asked him where is there a discount still? He talks to Disney and the only moderate left w/ a AAA discount is CBR. We are booked for the 1st month of Dec. I looked at your sig and noticed that you are going in Nov???? There might not be a lot of AAA dis. left. Ask your AAA to ask where?

Oh...one last thing...AAA might be quoting you w/ travel insurance. We decline. If I want it I will shop around and buy one. Make sure you tell them that you do not want TI if you do not want it.

Hi!
We do have AAA. We got a quote from them and then called Disney. They were $ for $ the exact amount. It was during free dining in August. I thought that AAA would be cheaper but they were not.

Well CBR is our choice, so that explains the savings we got! Lucky for us!

Thanks for the responses, very helpful!

We are heading to Pop Aug 13 - 19 and booked through AAA. Got a package deal that included free dining plan and the package was substantially cheaper than what Disney quoted. We also got a couple of extra perks (free game of mini golf, dinner at Planet Hollywood) by booking through them. They could not help us on our airfare, so we booked that ourselves.

Hope that helps!

We have used AAA the last 3x's we have gone to WDW. We always book a package. Sometimes they are not much cheaper than booking directly through Disney, but this last time they were a couple hundred cheaper. We also like the convenience of our AAA TA taking care of everything for us...she will get us a preferred room and do all of our ADRs for us.

They do quote with travel insurance included, so if you don't want that you have to let them know. Also, my TA quotes with a preferred room, unless I tell her differently. Maybe that's where your differences are coming from.

AAA has not released their 2007 rates yet. If you call Disney and mention AAA they will tell you that they don't have those rates yet.

And it accually is cheaper than going through Disney or Dreams....

This is my first time going onsite at Disney ...
The first time booking with AAA...

When my family used to go to orlando (OLCC) every November for the past 10 yrs ... I would drive... SIL would book the room and tickets... But this time it's just DH and I..... :cheer2:

We got the water parks, WWoS and Planet Hollywood with AAA as well...

To get the free dining, you have to give up the AAA discount. In our case, the AAA disc was $300. Free dining was $1368!!!! Quite a savings!!

I'm not sure that this part of your question was succinctly answered. When you book through AAA, your AAA TA must handle all changes to your reservation. IOW, if you want to change room type, dates, add a request, etc., you must call your AAA TA who in turn calls WDTC to make the change.

I don't think that the confirmation number you will receive from AAA will match up with any number Disney has. You can't take your confirmation, call CRO, give them the number and make changes.

You may call to make your ADRs 180 days out. The Disney CM did not ask me for a reservation or confirmation number. She did ask for my name and how many adults and children would be dining. Your AAA TA can also make ADRs for you if you would like.

BTW, we used AAA for our trip this summer. We received everything the Disney package entails as well as a few AAA-only perks. All of our documents arrived on time (paperwork about 3 weeks before the trip, Magical Express tags a week later) and were printed on Disney's very own paper, complete with WDTC policies and contact information pre-printed on the back.

All of our requests were honored. :cool1:

If you read some AAA posts here on the DIS, you will see some good and bad experiences. I can tell you that some AAA agents are very good, other have no idea. When I planned the trip last summer, I stopped at my local AAA office; I was told that packages were not available for 2006. I checked the DIS, and other posters had already booked. I called the regional AAA number (Pittsburgh) and had my discounted package within 10 minutes. Just like dealing with CRO, if you don't get the answers or experience you expect, try to call back or go through a regional AAA office.

You could not get the free dining promotion with a AAA discount. If you booked a package without free dining, there would have been a AAA discount on the room.

We booked free dining with AAA and it was $150 cheaper than Mouse for Less and about $400 cheaper than Disney on line. Before I paid the deposit I checked again at Disney on line and the rooms we wanted weren't even available. So AAA it is. :cool1:

I don't have AAA- but I have an application on my dinning room table- anyway? can you get discounts on packages? Just room only? what are the discounts like $off or %off? Are they only available certain times of year? How far in advance can you book?

It is possible to get discounted packages from AAA. There are discounts available all year long, but the % changes based on the season. You can book the packages as soon as Disney sets its package pricing, likely in mid-August.

We used AAA for our June trip. We were able to save about $300 over what Disney quoted us. This saving was more than the AAA room only discount, so there is a slight break on other package pieces as well (definitely tickets, possibly some on dining plan).

PottersMom, Yes you can get a discount room only. You can just call Disney to get the room only and you do not have to be a AAA member yet. But, when you check in they might ask for your AAA card. If you call AAA to make a reservation then you will need to be a member because they will ask for your member number. My mom just put hers in the mail and had the temporary card and we still were able to book a package through AAA for her.

Disney only blocks so many rooms for a AAA discount so I would do it as soon as possible. If a better code comes then call and they will give you the better deal.
