We're staying here Aug 2-7. Can't wait to hear what else you have to say!! We stopped by there April 23rd when we were down, but didn't get past the BB courts.

Thanks for a quick update. We'll be there at the end of the month. Too excited for words right now...

We checked in on Friday and got a Baobob tree as a gift for being here on opening day. The resort is fabulous, the rooms are very nice. We have been enjoying the savannah.
The pool is really nice, and the interactive kids area is alot of fun. My wife was at the pool this pm and she said a child slipped and whacked their head pretty good. She wasn't sure if they went to the hospital. That's one thing we noticed was that the area around the pool was very slippery when it's wet.
Now the bus service has been horrible. We waited almost 1 hour last night for a bus to MK. In that period 4 HS buses came and went. I know that the HS buses were probably the same two buses. I finally asked a driver on the Epcot loop if he could radio someone and find out what the hold up was. He said one of the problems was that some bus drivers may have been going right to Jambo house and skipping Kidani Village because they were not aware that it had opened. Well long story short they switched out a HS bus to take us to MK. This was not the only instance where we had long waits. It just seems like the bus system has suffered.

i noticed there was a temporary looking sign that said "wdw busses ->" and it was obvious it was there b/c the bus drivers didn't know where to go yet.

Hey there everyone!!
Sophielab1: I think we saw you at the bus stop. I heard the people that got on at Jambo right after us say the same thing. We got out there a little later. I saw from our balcony, buses coming in and out. I'm suprised none were for MK. Yesterday, late morning there was a CM out there asking us where we were going and said that a bus would be on its way soon. I'm guessing they are correcting the problem.

MnmomW3boys: Camp Kidani is free for the month of May. They learn about the culture of Africe with a CM. It is 2hrs. They have at 9-11 am and 5:30-7:30 pm. You can sign up in the Library from 12-8 pm. Yesterday they did African sports and I believe this morning they are teaching them about mammals. My girls really enjoyed it. They received a lanyard with a wooden pin, if they recieve three of them they get another one? I can't remember, just having my first coffee. ;) It wasn't busy at all, I think there was 4 kids including mine and we signed up pretty late the night before. My daughter noticed the same 2 kids signed up for this morning too and no one else. They are doing the 9 am one though. It worked out great for us. We showered made the beds, did laundry, all in peace. :goodvibes
All in all, we are really enjoying it here. We've been going to the pool around 4ish and it's been great. Not busy like we thought it would be. I don't know if it was planned or not, but it's not so easy to get here. The buses all go to Kidani first and then to Jambo.
Last night we went to the lounge at Sanaa and had a couple of drinks and the bread sampler (can't remember the name.) We really liked it.
Time to go...girls have to get up for Camp Kidani!

I too am interested in details about Camp Kidani. How old do the children need to be, and how much will it cost after May?

From the activity board;

"Spend some time with some of our cutural representitives having fun and learning about African wildlife and cultures. This two-hour program is open to campers between the ages of 6 and 12. Though complimentary through the month of May, space is limited. Please sign with a Savanna Guide in the Library from 12PM to 8PM."
