We've just bought a 10 day world pass for WDW and it entitles us to a character breakfast. Weve never done this before and we're really excited!:Pinkbounc
Can any1 recommend the best places for a character breakfast?
Thx:wave:

We love Dona'd's at Animal Kingdom. When the park opens at 9 A.M., we try and get our PS for 8:10 (the earliest possible). Then we get into the park about an hour ahead of everyone else, eat and are already in the park when the rest of the crowd gets in. The food is great, especially if you are in the first group. The characters are great too. They make omelets to order and have loads of other goodies!

We love the Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club Resort for their character breakfast. It's a delicious buffet, and Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale are there to greet you! It's definitely our favorite breakfast so far, but we haven't tried them all yet! ;)

We weren't too happy with Breakfastosaurus, though, because we felt the food was nothing special and didn't care for the atmosphere, but lots of people love it. To each his own...

Hiya -

We usually use the breakfast voucher for Donald's Restonasaurus at Animal Kingdom.

I like the Crystal Palace for breakfast the best. It's also in a handy location. I also think that Chef Mickey's is fun but the food isn't all that great.

This year we're trying breakfast at the Crystal Palace and the Kona Cafe - I've read great reviews of Kona, but mixed reviews of CP. Oh well, we won't know until we try...;)

Next time we'll try Chef Mickey's (mixed reviews) and 1900 Park Fare. There are so many to try, and with the character dinners we're also doing, we just can't fit them all in 1 trip - it gives us something new to look forward to for our next trip!

I will second Donald's, we had a great meal there last month. If you have daughters you might want to try one of the princess breakfasts, CRT or PSB, if they are included in this deal.

If you are interested in the character experience I suggest that you look at some of the resources out there to find out which characters are at the meals and choose by who you want to see...if you are looking for a good meal, good luck...most are buffet. we like Crystal palace for lunch buffet and Chef Mickey for dinner...the kids love the food at these places, my DH even liked crystal palace and he is not a buffet person...I have heard that 1900 park fare is also good eats...

try looking at www.wdwig.com for some info or even www.disney.com look under the parks, then dining for some info to help you -

Much will depend on several things....
1) Which characters would you like to see?
2) are you going mostly for the characters, the food, or both?
3) would you like to eat in a park, or at a nearby resort?
4) which park you will be going to on the day of your character meal
5) where you are staying.

If you are into members of the Fab 5 (not all will appear at all meals), then the following may be of interest to you:
in parks:
Donald's Breakfastosaurus at the AK
Liberty Tree Tavern at the MK (dinner only)
Garden Grille at Epcot (lunch and dinner only)
in the resorts:
Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary (breakfast and dinner)
'Ohana at the Polynesian (breakfast only)
Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club (breakfast only)

If Pooh is your deal, you can see he and his friends at:
parks:
Crystal Palace in MK (all meals served)
1900 Park Faire at the Grand Floridian (breakfast only)... others like Alice in Wonderland and Mary Poppins will also be present.

If you want to visit with the Princesses:
in parks:
Cinderella's Royal Table in MK (breakfast only)
Storybook Princess Breakfast at Akersaus in Epcot (breakfast only)
in the resorts
Cinderella's Royal Dinner at the 1900 Park Faire at the Grand Floridian.

Having just checked my Unofficial Guide by Bob Sehlinger, I noticed that there are some character meals listed that are no longer in operation... they include:
Artist's Point with Pooh and Friends at the Wilderness Lodge.. this has been closed since 2001.
Hollywood and Vine at MGM which has not been operating for character meals, although is still open for dinner, since earlier this year.
Olivia's at Old Key West with Pooh and Friends which was suspended in 2002.

We have found that the food at the 1900 Park Faire Character breakfast to be the best quality, and the service was top notch. The characters were really great and accessible, as well.

Chef Mickey's specializes in kid friendly fare, which may not be as interesting to the more mature palate. It also tends to get pretty loud... but the kids LOVE it!

We thought that the Akersaus Norweigan castle was the perfect setting for the Storybook Princess breakfast. The food was served family style and the service was good. The princesses were very good. We haven't had the opportunity to go to Cinderella's Royal Table, as the priority seating is almost impossible to get!

We liked the food at the Garden Grille and thought that the rotating dining room with the view of the Living with the Land ride was an extra added bonus. This was also a more sedate character meal due to the set up of the restaurant. The characters were very good.

We really enjoyed the characters at Liberty Tree Tavern, but were not as thrilled with the food or service. Perhaps it was an off night????

We haven't yet tried Crystal Palace, Cape May or Donalds, but would definitely like to check them out, as they get rave reviews.

Hope this helps in making your decision and that you enjoy whichever character meal you decide to attend!:)

I got Donald's for 7:50 a.m. Maybe they have PS's earlier now?

Hey eeyore0062,

The 2003 edition of the Unofficial Guide notes that the CBs at Olivia's and Artist Point were suspended in 2002. The changes to Hollywood & Vine are mentioned on the Guide's web site update page.

Hope this helps.

eeyore0062 did a great job with the considerations. The only other thing you may want to consider is how you are served. Most meals are buffet. A few are preplated or family style (a big skillet brought to your table that everyone serves themselves out of). I'm not sure which are served how, although I know that most are buffet, Ohana is family style and Cindys is preplated. With little kids or anyone mobility challenged, preplated or family style is really nice.

If you want to see Eeyore(he is my favorite character, too)then you will want to try the character breakfast at the Crystal Palace. It is Pooh and friends. We ate here in early June for breakfast and loved it!! The CP is a must-do for us from now on!!

Due to my young children getting over a fear of costumed characters, we did a slew of character breakfasts our last trip. Out of CRT, SBP, Donald's Breakfastorsaurus, Garden Grill, Wonderland Tea, and Crystal Palace breakfast, the one meal they insist on for our upcoming trip is Crystal Palace. Quite a surprise to me since they seemed to have outgrown their Pooh days!;)
