Any Word on new codes thru oct.??

I would think that they would come out at the end of the summer (not before mid July, maybe even closer to late Aug). There were no Sept AP discounts last year, so I think WDW will at least wait to see what fall bookings the new "FTP" type deal brings in.

Do you think the 5+2 Dream Maker package will beat any codes that may come out and then buying the tickets separately at check-in? I am also planning a trip for October for four adults and three kids. Two years ago I used a room code to book the room through the Central Reservations Office (POFQ for $99) and then used the Magic Kindgom Card at checkin to purchase the Unlimited ParK Hopper tickets at a price that I think was equivalent to the advance purchase price. The advantage to this is that only one night's deposit is paid before check-in as opposed to a package that must be paid in full 45 days before check-in. With the discontinuance of the Magic Kingdom Card is there a way to get Unlimited ParK Hopper tickets at a discount at check-in and if so how much?

Then you can price everything out separately and see what it would cost with no discounts. Room only discounts are never guaranteed, so I wouldn't count on that when making a decision. I do not know of any way to get a discount on passes upon check in, unless you are eligible for a military discount. I think you can get an advance purchase discount by buying from certain reputable ticket sellers, like Hotwire Savings Club. You can definetly figure in those savings when comparing separate pricing to the pkg. Also take into account which parks your family will visit, as the pkg will allow you entry into the 4 major parks, the water parks, PI, and DQ. You will have to pay for some of these admissions separately if buying the tickets yourself, but they will usually be available at a discount (prepurchase) and some tickets never expire, so unused days can be used on subsequent trips. I was actually considering the pkg (and we already have 2 of 3 necessary APs) but a kind soul on this board was good enough to point out that even if there were no room only discounts, I would be paying more than doing everything separately. This may work out different for you, since you do not have any tickets yet. Put it all down on paper and compare.
