I don't expect to get any replies actually. This is inspired by the taller thread by Belle2003. I feel like I am the only wife in the world that is taller than my husband. I has never bothered him but I must admit it bothers me a bit because we get the occasional stare or snicker.

I'm 2 inches taller than my exh. When I wore heels (which was often), he came up to just above my shoulder. I'm marrying a tall man next time.

I am just a hair shorter than my wife. If she wears heels, I'm obviously shorter. Fortunately, it doesn't bother me; I've always been short, and can't imagine anything different.

If I wear heels, I'm taller than DH. Doesn't bother either of us.

I'm 5'10", DH is 6'2". Back in my dating years, I limited myself to guys 6 feet on up. Which is so dumb when you really think of it, I'm sure I never looked twice at some really nice guys. Fortunately, I found a nice tall one though. :) Since we got married, though, we've become close friends with a couple who are vastly different in height, he is about 5'4", she is over 6 foot. They are the most adorable people, I can't imagine one without the other and other than the initial shock of seeing them together for the first time, I don't even notice their height difference.

I am about 1 inch taller than my husband. If I wear heels (which is just about daily), I feel like I tower over him.

When we first got married it wasn't that noticeable. I was very young and much smaller. Heck, maybe I've even gotten taller since then. Anyway, I feel a lot taller than him than I used to feel.

I'm 6', and my fiance is pretty much my exact height. Therefore, if I wear any shoes at all, I'm taller than he is!

It's something I've been dealing with most of my life, though, so I'm kind of used to it!

I was about 1/2" taller than my ex. When I wore heels, I felt like I really towered over him. DH is about 2 inches taller than me and I'm pretty pleased.

I'm the same height as Dh (5ft 8in), w/ heels taller...doesn't bother either of us. As long as he weighs more than me.....

I was about 1 1/2" taller than my ex-h and I hated it. Well, maybe not hated, but would definitely preferred him to be a few inches taller. I am looking for a TALL man now. :teeth:

I'm about 6" shorter than DH, which is about perfect for dancing, etc.

But I really wish we could all get it out of our minds that the wife has to be shorter. Think of how we women limit our options in a SO, especially if we are very tall.

We are both 5'8" as well, EXCEPT, I do weigh more   . My DH is has a small frame and weighs less than I did even when I was very thin. I figure as long as I can fit into his jeans it is not all bad :teeth:

Me.

I'm 5'8" and DH is 5'7", of course, he says he's taller but he's not, LOL!!! I also weigh a lot more than he does - oh well!!!

It doesn't bother me, it never has.

Hello all! I had to reply to this when I saw it. I'm not sure of my husband's exact height. I've never asked and I know he's lied on his driver's license ( It says 5'6"). I am 5'6" and my husband is at least 4 inches shorter than me. He is the best thing that has ever happened to me, since this is my third marriage. I married for all the wrong reasons the first 2 times. My husband and I both work in a prison. He is the Intelligence/Security Captain there and I am a Transport Officer. Because of my husband's position when our co-workers get themselves into situations that lead to them being counseled or suspended by him, they make fun of his height. Not to his face, of course. They will do this to me. Strange but adults can be just as cruel as children. It never seems to bother him though. He has a high self esteem and is a military type person. Former Vietnam Vet - Navy SeaBee.

We all need to care about what others think to a certain extent, but not to the point where we don't make the right decisions for ourselves. For instance, not being with that right someone because our society believes that the man should be taller than the woman. Who made that unwritten rule anyhow? I'm just sorry I didn't meet him sooner. I wasted alot of time in my life placing importance on the physicial attributes in men.
MamaLema, when people stare and snicker - just remember those people just haven't achieved your level of intelligence. :wave2:

Taller than my husband? :rotfl:

I just wish I was taller than my husbands belly button.

My maternal grandmother was 12 inches taller than my grandfather - she was 5'11" and he was 4'11" and neither of their two kids got any height (my mom was around 4'11" and my aunt is around 4'9") and so there was no luck for me (my dad is about 5'4" as well).
