Any whispers of a Salute renewal?

We are anxiously awaiting the possible renewal of the military Salute room discount in hopes of staying CL at AKL. Otherwise we'll be at Pop or maybe POFQ, which will be fine, but if they extend the discount we're going to take full advantage of it Has anyone heard any whispers of an official renewal?

The only thing I've been hearing is that they've had it for 5 years and there's no reason they wouldn't renew it; that being said, I know that eventually they won't renew it, and I'm really hoping that this isn't the year that happens. Meanwhile, we're making plans and I'm getting nervous...anyone have any non-official good news for me

(Before things get shiggy--my family and I are incredibly grateful for Disney having made this discount available in the past and do not feel "entitled" to it or any other discount/deal. When they do stop renewing the discount, we won't be angry or anything, just a little sad that a great program has come to an end. As many of us here wait for RO or FD discounts, I'm waiting for a Salute announcement, and if it doesn't come, we'll swap resorts and still have a great time. Just looking for even only slightly substantaited rumors )

When I called yesterday to switch from BC CL to WL CL the CM on the phone told me we should hear something sometime in July on the extension of the salute! I won't believe it until I see it, but fingers crossed as CL is out of the question without some kind of savings.

A CM a few weeks ago told me mid June, which is much sooner than previous announcements. I didn't really expect him to be accurate with that, but it would be nice if he were! I just want to see our "real" total, and either mourn our CL loss or really get excited for it.

Side note: DH is also AF, where are y'all stationed?

Cm told me today mid august
I don't think anyone knows for sure but they seem confident that it will be extended

Yesterday I was told the end of July...but yes, they all are confident it will be extended, so at least there's that. Just once I wish I would get a CM who would be honest and just say "I have no idea, but good luck!"

Does anyone know how FastPass+ works with the military Salute park tickets?

Or, if anyone knows of a thread somewhere concerning this, let me know--I have no idea of where to look.

Hi, I have experience with it.

We picked up our vouchers for the Salute tickets at our local base. The vouchers have a code on them that can be typed in to be linked to MDE to make FP+ selections. On each voucher I wrote the name of the person that I linked that voucher to. After I linked them all I made the FP+ selections. On our arrival day, we went to Guest Relations at Magic Kingdom. We showed them our IDs and gave them the vouchers AND magic bands. The CM at guest relations then made sure that the FP+ selections I made with the vouchers were transferred over to the bands properly after they were exchanged for real tickets, this is why it is important you make note of which voucher is linked to which person. However, I guess if you make the same selections for every member in the party it would not matter.
