Any way to tell how full a SW flight is?

We are off to Disney next Wednesday at noon, flying out of Albany. Is there any way to tell how full the flight is? I have to be somewhere else at noon on Tuesday so I can't check in right at the 24 hour mark. I will be home and able to check in by 1:00pm.

Not sure if this is really going to be a problem. If the flight isn't full we should still be able to sit together.

Any advice?

Thanks

I have found out on the last two trips to WDW you really need to check in exactly 24 hours ahead of time if you want an "A" seat. You can always call the airline and they will tell you how full the plane is. However that morning there could be lots of empty seats and the plane can still fill up so check on the status often. Have fun!

If you have a Web-enabled cell phone you can check in from wherever you are at the 24 hour mark at mobile.southwest.com. No need to actually print out your boarding cards at the time you check in. You will need your reservation #.

Just try to make a reservation for 8 seats, that will give you an idea.

Previous poster is from AZ. My guess is many of the passengers are on continuing, or connecting, flights from the West Coast. Those passengers can go online and request a BP an hour or more before a passenger leaving from AZ.

I would love to know that too. On our trip in May, I actually booked something earlier than the last flight out. One reason was we were planning on driving anyway, so weren't planning on having Monday in the parks anyway, so leaving late afternoon was fine.

However, what I would really love is for this flight to be overbooked, so we could volunteer for the later flight and get some extra flight credits for our September trip. :rolleyes1

See if you can buy a cheap ticket for the flight. Most SW flights are pretty full, but if they still have cheap seats it might not be so bad.

Note that if you are just two people, sitting together won't be a problem if you end up with B passes, and it unlikely to even be a problem even if you are a bigger group.

But no need to go through that - even if you aren't free at the 24 hour mark, do you know anyone who is free you trust to log you in?

well SW from here is ALWAYS filled - they will drop prices if necessary to fill the plane.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll change my plans and go a little later than usual to my errand. I really want to get the A passes. DH and I are traveling with our 3 DS (14, 12,10).
