Any way to keep birds off your clothesline?

We finally have sun here. Well, it's partly cloudy, but at least it's not raining!
I'm doing a mountain of laundry and have been hanging clothes on my clothesline. I just looked out the window and saw a giant bird perched on the clean clothes! Is there any way to keep birds OFF a clothesline? I've had problems in the past with birds dropping "presents" on my clean laundry, but the audacity of this bird to actually perch on the clean clothes really makes me mad!

Any suggestions?

Balloon's. Have 2 or 3 filled at your local Party City type store & tie the strings on your clothesline. They keep many types of birds away.
