Any way to include someone that can't make the trip?

I wasn't sure which forum this would be ideal for. My family is traveling with my friend's family who is visiting for the first time this December. His wife recently became ill and there is a strong possibility that she wont be able to make the trip. So it would be just him and the two kids. This Disney trip is likely to be a once in a lifetime Disney trip for them, and in the event that she can't come, are there any ways to sort of include her?

I did get the photopass, so I figured that I would give her access to seeing the photos each day. I have little experience with it, but I figure Snapchat would be an option.

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

Facetime, skype, Facebook live or any video chat would be a good option. I wouldn't suggest doing it in a ride unless they wear headphones and it isn't a dark ride but you would be to include her while walking around the parks and stuff. You could also pre-plan to buy some stuff on shop Disney Parks app and have it shipped to her. If you time it right she might get the package while you are gone and sometimes they have things like Mickey rice treats and other park snacks on there so she could experience those.

When my son couldn't make a trip, I blew up a picture of his face, photoshopped Mickey ears on it, cut it out and laminated, glued to a stick and we held it up at every photo pass we did. I wanted him to know that we were thinking of him during all those family moments and in a way he contributed to the fun! (the kids who did come put flat Lukas in some funny situations!) Mickey even took a picture with him.

Hopefully it won't come to this and she is able to make it!

AWESOME, I love this!!!!

We had a relative in a bad accident before one of our trips. We bought a extra autograph book, we told each character their name and what was going on ... each one took time to write her a get well note and make is personal and special. They were so excited to receive it, best get well card ever!

Send lots of picture using twitter or instagram. I have done this with my sons when I have gone without them

I did Facebook Live for the Festival of Fantasy parade on our trip two weeks ago. It was super easy to do, and a great way for my friends and family to be "in" on our action.
