Any way to activate a new pass online?

I plan to purchase a new annual pass by tomorrow for the +6 months extra promotion, but my schedule is very jammed right now and it will be a challenge to make it to the park today or tomorrow.

I know that normally when you purchase online, your pass only activates the first time you use it (which is usually a good thing).

However, is there any way to activate online without entering a park?

Also, how late is the ticket booth open at the park to purchase? Is it right up until park closing time?

You have to physically pass through the entrance gate from all that I have heard.

I just bought a few APs and our trip isn’t until the end of April. Does that mean I won’t get my free 6 months?

I thought I read I had to buy the pass by April 4th?

No, you have to activate it by April 4th. I knew that, I just hoped there was a way to activate without passing through gates, but apparently not.

You may wish to phone customer service to ask if they will do it for you, knowing that your 18 months would start today even though your trip is not until the end of the month.

Called customer service yesterday and they stated you have to actually scan it at the park to get the free months by 4/4/19. We don't arrive until May.
