Hi! This may seem like a weird question  , but are there any war/old plane museums in Orlando? I have come across a place called 'Fantasy of Flight' on the internet, but I have no idea of how long it would take to get there. Do they have any tours to the museums? How would you get to the museum if we are not renting a car?

Also I have found on the internet some shopping tours to the Outlet Malls. Are these easy to do, and do you get to spend enough time shopping? I would like to visit the Florida Mall, but I am unsure of how to get there. Would you just catch a taxi there and back to our on-site resort? Thank-you for any help!
Have a great day! :cheer2:

Fantasy of flight is West of Disney about a 20- 30 minute drive. It is just past Baseball city, near Winterhaven. You would have to take a taxi there if you don't have a car and that would cost a pretty penny.
There was a small airfield down the side street past Walmart on 192 a few years ago. I drove there with my son because they had some old planes and a repair area. I am not sure if they are still there, maybe someone from the Orlando area can answer for you. They charged an outrageous price, something like $25 per person, to go into the hangers and see the planes. We stood outside the gate and he saw what he wanted.
Not sure what else is in the area. Do a search for airshows in Florida. Maybe there will be one while you are visiting, they are really big down south. We hardly ever have air shows here up north, I used to try and take my son when he was into the planes and old aircraft. Peggie

It is exit 44 off I4 west. About 20 miles west of WDW. In Polk City.

Note, Baseball City really doesn't exist anymore, it is Davenport. :)

If you are not renting a car, I would skip it. I have never been in the place, but I would have a hard time accepting that it is worth the cab fare.

DS who is a plane fanatic chose Fantasy of Flight over a day at any of the parks one year.
A lot of interior displays, an especially neat one on serving in the Pacific in WWII, a simulator for a small additional fee and plane rides for a larger additional fee.
He thought it was well worth it.
Another year we went to the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola Fl. It had trainers(seat and cockpit) for about 25 planes. And static displays of Navy and Marine Aircraft. Plus sometimes you can see the Blue Angels practicing.

I've never been, so I can't comment on it, but I know there's a war plane museum right next to the Sanford Int'l airport as well, which is about a 45min drive from Disney, on the northwest side of Orlando.

Fantasy of Flight is a good one but I like Wings over Miami better. It's a militart and classic aircraft museum. You can find out information about it www.gomiamicard.com
