Any vegetarian/vegan advice?

My husband is vegan (no meat/dairy products) and I don't eat meat (can't give up that cheese though!)......does anyone have any suggestions for good entrees at any of the restaurants? We'll be at RPR, so anything on Universal property is doable.

Not being vegatarian/vegan I'm not 100% sure. However, since you are staying at RPR I will say that there are a lot of restaurants there, so I would ASSUME more than one of them would be able to accomodate you.

Inside the parks there are plenty of sit-down restaurants too.

What I'd probably do if I were you is go on Universal's website and look at some of the restaurants, and - if you want - give them a call. Every time I've called Universal for any info they've been very nice and helpful.

I think I'll take your advice and give some places a call. I've been looking at the menus on allears.net, and I think I can get an idea of what restaurants might be best to try. Pastamore is a definite, since you can mix and match to make a custom meal, but we don't want to eat too much pasta if we can help it.

Also, forgot to mention, if you don't mind driving out of the park area, there is a Sweet Tomatoes like 5-10 minutes away. I'm not 100% sure, but I think you drive over I-4 and then turn left on International Drive ("I-Drive"). Better double-check though, I may be wrong about where it's at, but I do know it's fairly close to Universal. Anyway, they probably have TONS of options for you.

I just went on maps.google.com for you and it looks like it's not far, so I don't think a cab would be too bad.

Google said it was about 3 miles.

There's a Fresh Market nearby, but you'd need to get a taxi. Also, they have been building a new Whole Foods on Sand Lake and Turkey Lake Rds...Spring 08 is estimated opening....maybe in time for your trip. While not the same as eating out, you could pick up some groceries from there and save some money. They also have some good made-to-order meals too.

Oh wow, I wonder if I could convince Sun Ray to take us to Whole Foods for our grocery stop! That's a great bit of info, thank you!

I know I can probably end up with a pretty cheap rental car, but that daily parking fee at the resorts is a killer. In the end though, if I think we can get more variety by going off site to eat, the car might end up being the most sensible option.
