I am booking another trip with my friends and one is a strict vegetarian.

They want to go back to Walts but Inventions isn't on the return plan as they didn't cater very well for my friend here, the veggie option had run out and when she asked what she could have the chef just pointed to some vegetables in a dish! Needless to say she wasn't impressed!!

I can't say that I have really noticed veggie options when I have dined as this has never been an issue for me, so I wondered if there were any vegetarians on the board and where they might have successfully eaten!!

Thanks

I think I've read that the Agrabah is very veggie friendly

Yes the Agrabah has some really good vegetarian food with a lot of choice.

Im surprised they had run out at Inventions - as they usually replace as they run out. I wonder if your friend was misunderstood and they thought she was asking for vegetables when they pointed at the dish of vegetables

Its a shame but the day I took my friends to Inventions it was appauling service, and alot of the food had run out and wasn't being replaced! There were lots of empty dried dishes and I was so upset as I had gone on about how lovely it was and it was anything but! As we were leaving we noticed the Head Chef materialise and look at the poor offerings! He went bersurk, we couldn't understand but you got the gist of all the shouting and yelling and the chefs standing behind the counters suddenly starting scurrying and all of a sudden these dishes were refilled, but it was too late for us, we were on our way out of the restaurant by then.

So I'm afraid my friends do not share my love of Inventions but they really did like Walts!!

I wondered what the California Grill might be like as it seems that they have a set vegetarian menu?

What a dreadful experience. :sad2: I can see why your friends don't rate it there.

I'm a vegetarian myself, but we usually eat at the counter service restaurants.

I know that Walt's and Blue Lagoon have vegetarian options, they seem OK but don't expect anything too fancy (pasta & rice, I believe). I would be OK with it, but... oh well, not fancy like I said.

Maybe http://disneycentralplaza.englishbo...rants-de-dlp-t10440.htm?highlight=restaurants will be helpful; it shows the menus - in French, I'm afraid, but you can get an idea at least of where the veggie options are (they are marked with a green "V").

From personal experience I can highly recommend Annette's "Green piece burger", a lovely vegetarian burger :thumbsup2

Bon appetit :)

My hubby has been a vegetarian for over 20 years and he is the fussiest creature you could ever imagine! As a vegetarian, he hates salad :sad2: and thinks that being offered uncooked vege's is like us being offered raw meat

Anyway.. lets just say he is a bloomin nightmare and The French are not particularly accomodating when it comes to vegetarian food. Last year for example, in Paris, when we asked for vegetarian food the waiter didnt understand what we were asking, and once we explained, he said "Why? Are you ill?!" OOOhh that went down with my hubby like a lead balloon :rotfl:

Disney are definitley better tho than they were, and the vege option at Walts is a pasta dish, although my fussy hubby still talks about it being one of the best vegetarian meals he has had ANYWHERE :woohoo:

I agree, Agrabah has plenty of choice for vege's (quite spicy tho) and Rendevous des stars was ok too (though mainly pizza)
I would have said Inventions too, but I can understand if you've had a bad experience there before you'd be very reluctant to try it again, but if I am honest, although it really was very good for us (meat, chicken & seafood) there was not much choice other than Pizza and hot vegetables or cheese and salad for my hubby. He was ok there but he put up with the food for the character interaction, ambience and service because it was so much nicer than Cafe Mickey.

It isnt easy for vegetarians at the best of times, but harder in France because they just dont "get" vegetarians. My husband was offered chicken and fish as "vegetarian food", so his "no food with a face" policy was looked on as rather weird :confused3

Good luck.. its difficult but not impossible at Disneyland Paris for vege's but do be aware that it is mainly pasta, pizza and salad/cheese. On the plus side... the deserts at a lot of the restaurants are fab and they can maybe indulge a bit more there than they would normally perhaps?

Have a great time :cheer2:

I'm a vegetarian and when I went in May, I had lots of choice.

I really loved Walts risotto, Agrabah was ok for vege choice, I preferred inventions though. When I went they did have at least 3 hot meals that were vegetarian. The best restaurant I ate in for vegetarian food other than walts was actually beaver creek. The main was lovely and the starters were good too, though just general salad items.

I would certainly try Inventions again if you can convince her!
