Any updates about the service centres on the 401 to Windsor?

A few months ago I asked if the service centres on the 401 to Windsor had re-opened and I was told no they have not. Anyway next Saturday on August 1st my family and I are driving down to Clearwater Beach, Florida using Interstate 75 and that means we will be taking the 401 to Windsor before we cross the Ambassador Bridge into Detroit. So I was wondering if these service centres have re-opened? If they have not re-opened are the gas stations located off the 401 easy to find during the middle of the night, because we never got off them since we always used the service centres and I am sure we will need to stop for gas at least once before arriving to Windsor.

Unfortunately they are not yet open. There isn't too many gas stations that are between London and Windsor with out "going into town".
Your best bet would be to stop in London and fill up...like at the Flying J.
There is another truck stop, a Pilot, about 45mins from Windsor. You can't miss it , it's right off the highway and they only one there. Other than that there isn't really anything else until Windsor.

There was a news item on the weekend. No gas for 236 km from the Windsor gas station closest to the 401. They are still trying to sell/develop ALL of the service centres, so be ready for even more closing.

Gas at London can be found at: 5th Wheel (exit 199), Husky (exit 195), Flying J (exit 189). [We use Husky, since it is often cheapest, closest to us and we get CAA points ] All are 27/7, since they are all "truck stops" with food.

The two service stations in both directions between Windsor and London are closed for gas. The Tilbury service center heading to Windsor has washroom but no gas.

However there is signage all along in this stretch of the 401 telling you exits with 24 hour gas stations.

Coming from Toronto if you are runing low on gas when you hit London you can exit at Wellington road and fill up. Lots of 24 hour service stations.

Leaving from Windsor, fill up and you should be ok until London where you can put some more gas in.

1 stop West of Tilbury is Comber (the stop for Pelee Island) there is a new gas complex there with Tim hortons and A&W very nice and clean.
The western Tilbury stop has gas which is quite inexpensive
