I know that there are televisions throughout the World, but are there any specifically in the Magic Kingdom?

I want to be able to watch some of the Penn State/Illinois game when I am there this Saturday.

Thanks!

We Are Penn State!:cheer2:

I have never seen any TV's in the MK and I am not sure which if any of the resort lounges would be showing it. The only place I can think of is the ESPN club at the Boardwalk or the All Star Cafe at Wide World of Sports.

Nope, none in the parks themselves. Best bet is either ESPN restaurant at Boardwalk or back in your hotel room.

Never understood why anyone would spend thousands of dollars on a vacation and then spend part of it watching TV, :confused3 and I'm a pretty big sports fan (mostly hockey, though we did watch the Stanley Cup finals during our honeymoon when the Sabres were in it, but that's the finals!)

What I've done in the past is have someone at home update me with text messages, that way I find out what's going on but don't screw up my trip. Missing a game is not the end of the world. (But I promise not to tell the wife.)

I'm a big hockey fan, too! I have NHL updates delivered to my phone, maybe your team has something similar. I usually won't watch much tv on vacation, but wee did watch the Stanley cup finals (Ducks/Senators) while in Yosemite though lol.

Scores over my iphone it is then.

Thanks all!:thumbsup2

Get the ESPN app on your iPhone!! It is a really good way to check scores and auto refreshes so you stay up to date! I will be checking mine numerous times when my Golden Eagles take on the Boise St. Broncos on 10/11 and I'm in WDW!! And I WILL tivo the game to watch when I get home!:cheer2:

Recognizing you have already resolved to go with iphone score update solution...You might consider a walk over (or monorail) to Wave at The Contemporary. The Bar has a tv, and I'm sure they'll have football on in the afternoon. Nice place to take a break and explore, and you can be right back at the MK in ten minutes.

I don't know if Mizner's or Poly bar has tv option.

I'm up at Disney several times during the hockey season, and often plan at least one or two dinners at ESPN just so I can watch a game or two while scarfing some chili or a hot dog. I'd usually do more table-service style meals, but during hockey season, the ESPN bar area is very fun, especially during Stanley Cup playoffs.

One time while up there over Memorial Day weekend in 2005 and staying at Boardwalk, we were walking into Epcot late in the morning and while passing ESPN, saw the name 'Joe Sakic' on the front billboard. Being a hockey fan, I was curious...so I detoured my plans to go into Epcot and dropped into ESPN to see what was up. We ended up having a wonderful lunch while Joe Sakic was chatting up on the stage about the NHL and his career...met him afterwards...then headed into the park a few hours late but well worth it!

As for the football game the OP wanted to catch - you might just try a friendly chat with the bartender at Polynesian or Contemporary the day before or that morning, to see if he'd be willing to have the game on the bar TV (and if he has that channel). Then, you could just take a little mid-day break and Monorail over to the hotel for some game time, and just as easily head back into the park when you're done.

OMG that would so totally rock. Well worth missing a few park hours.

We are big Thrashers fans (insert joke) and can't wait for the puck to drop.

I definitely think going over to the CR and watching it at their lounge is your best bet!

Yup, your team in the Stanley Cup Finals (or in the National Championship game for the OP) would be understandable...our honeymoon in '99 was in Hawaii, so we found a bar out by the beach (6 hour time change put the games on mid-day) and we watched the periods and then walked on the beach during the intermissions. (Missed game 1 because it was our wedding day...couldn't convince DW to have a TV in the reception.)

I missed the 2nd round of the playoffs on vacation two years ago we were at Daytona beach, the games weren't on TV down there, so I made due with just the scores. I am already thinking how I am going to miss the last 2 games of the season and start of the playoffs this year since we will be going to AZ to visit my parents during Spring Break. Probably don't have Versus out there, so might not see them either. The bummer is I have season tickets, so when I travel during the playoffs, I not just missing the games, but am missing GOING TO the games. Oh well, the point I guess is even though I like it, it's only a game, and my life won't end if I miss it.

Back to the topic of Disney, when we went in October '06, Sabres were coming off of first big playoff run, entering President's Trophy winning season. They were playing the hated Flyers and DW and I were meeting another couple from Buffalo at PI. Another friend was at the game, and sent us texts of scoring updates while we were hanging at the Comedy Warehouse and Adventurer's Club. Sabres crushed 'em 10-1, and we shared drinks and high fives in celebration. Didn't disrupt the evening much, and were still able to enjoy our night out. (DMIL was with DD at the hotel.)

Sorry, back to your regularly scheduled thread.

Would they be showing that game on Florida television???? If one of the Florida teams are playing that day I would think that is what's going to be on. Not in to College Football.......so just askin.

Probably not football but if you like that annoying woman who talks about the top 10, you can watch her 8 bazillion times!
At WDW if you're not in the parks or restaurants, they're not making money, so the tv selection is crappy to keep you out of the room.
They're missing something though because lots of guys would pay to watch sports and many women, including me, would love pay per view movies instead of all the Disney channels.
