Any tricks to make the pages on this website load faster?

Most of the time the pages are loading soooo sloooooow for me! I am not having that problem on any other website, so I know it is not my computer. Is there anything I can do? Like try a different browser or something? Or is this just how it is?

It is actually loading normal for me too right now, but since I've been on it the last few days it has been super slow the vast majority of the time.

My DIS pages load sooo slowly too, in my case it's because of the animated ads. It seems most ads use animations/(flash?) stuff now, and it just chokes my computer to load them. That Disney one with an orange background and Hewey/Louie/Dewey always took 30-40 seconds to load. I admit I been wandering off the DIS more and more because of the ads. It takes so much time that I lose interest in whatever thread I was trying to read, and I go off to elsewhere on the web.

I just upgraded to the newest Internet Explorer, so I will see if that speeds things up.

yeah its always slow for me too...out of all the websites I visit this one is pretty terrible for speed!!!

Same for me - very slow here but not on the other websites. I also had the bottom pictures removed - just a tiny, tiny bit faster but not much really.

Go to your User CP in the upper left corner and turn off signatures.

I guess between the ads and the amount of content, the Dis is a slow loading site.

I notice that the load time is longer on the trip planning boards than it is here on the Community Boards. The Resort and Theme Park Planning boards are s-s-s-l-l-l-o-o-o-w-w-w!

I have signatures turned off, but I don't know if that helps much.

I complained to the cable company. I paid for faster broadband service, but it seemed to get slower instead of faster. I kept asking about the modem, which had been here for years, and they kept telling me it was fine.

Yesterday they came out to the house and replaced the modem. (I offered to pick up a new modem myself, but the supervisor was trying to track my issue, so they sent someone to do it.)

It's MUCH faster now.

Could be a coincidence... but I doubt it.

I know this particular website is a problem for many people, but it couldn't hurt to check with your provider.

I don't get any animated ads on The Dis. Just the same ad every time (Dumbo ad for Disneyland) which is not animated. The Dis still loads slow for me 7 out of 10 times though even without the animation. I will just open a new window and go to another site when that happens and then check back in later. I can't stand waiting for slow pages to load. It really is a problem with the The Dis.

It seems to be running normal right now though.

It will load quickly for me one minute then super slow 5 minutes later. I don't know what the difference is.
