Any tips for the family cabana waiting list?

I would like to try to get on the wait list for a cabana at CAstaway. We reserved one for the Adult Beach - but I think I'll release it on board and ask to be put on the wait list.

is that possible? Do I got to Guest Services for the Cabana wait list? Do you know the deadline for releasing the Adult Cabana without being charged? is it the day before?

Is it possible that someone will have a family cabana and want the adult cabana - and want to switch?

That seems unlikely but thought to see if anyone had this experience.

The deadline for cancelling port excursions is 3 days prior to sail date -- I believe that holds for cabanas on CC as well. If you cancel after that technically you can be charged. However, if DCL is able to re-sell it, you shouldn't be charged. I don't believe you can get on a wait list until you are board.

You could ask on your Cruise Meet thread if there is anyone want to swap with you. You might also find out there if someone is planning to cancel their cabana on the family beach and you can coordinate picking it up.
