Hubs and I just took our girls to WDW for a week in February. Now, we are going to visit my BFF and her family in LA. They want to go to Disney next Tuesday. We'd just be doing DL, not DCA. We'll have four adults, two one year olds and a five year old (one child has celiac disease).

I'm flying blind here! I feel like I knew everything about WDW, but I know nothing about DL. I'd love any and all hints you have. Especially must sees, since our time is so limited!

Thanks! I'm intimidated, but super excited!

Do you know how to use FastPass, it's use full in Disneyland.

Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain get very good seasonal overlays, use FP for both.

*Here's* how we spent 1 day *mid July 2009* I'd visit on a non MM day *Mon/Wed or Fri* and there's no reason not to visit both parks.

I do know fast passes. We will be all over haunted mansion. It's hubs' fave! unfortunately it will be a MM day, but we don't have a choice. Hopefully it won't be too crowded.

Thanks for sharing the great trip report. You got so much done! And in the summer no less!

Will the halloween decorations still be up?

Best advice: get there early! I mean be there in line before the parks open and have a good FP strategy. It looks like Space Mountain, It's a Small World, and Pirates will all be down that day.:headache: Space is taking down its overlay, Small World is putting up its overlay and Pirates is on extended refurb.

With little ones, I am guessing Fantasyland is a priority. Unfortunately, that day is a Magic Morning day where guests of the hotels and those with multi-day PHs get to visit an hour earlier than you. This may make Fantasyland a little crowded, but your best bet is to make a beeline for Peter Pan, then Dumbo, and then Alice. Then work your way through the other Fantasyland rides. It would be great if while most of your party went to Fantasyland, one person took all the tickets and got FPs from Star Tours and met you back in Fantasyland.

On the bottom of the FP ticket, notice when it says you can get another FP. As soon as you can, grab another FP. I would recommend Haunted Mansion Holiday since Space is down. After you have completed Fantasyland (including the Matterhorn) and grabbed two FPs, perhaps take the kids to Toon Town to meet Mickey, etc. Grab a Roger Rabbit FP (or ride if a short wait). The Roger Rabbit FP is disconnected from the others, so you can grab one now.

Continue to collect FPs as soon as you are able, like Indiana, Splash (if desired), Big Thunder (also disconnected).

I am guessing that the kids will not all be able to ride the bigger rides, so baby swap as needed. When some of the adults are riding ST with their FP, the others can take the kids to Buzz and/or Autopia. Then the adults can switch out. Indiana Jones has the Jungle Cruise next door that works for switching, I've also posed with pictures with Aladdin which is close by.

I would definitely make sure you hit the Fantasyland rides, Matterhorn, Indiana Jones, Haunted Mansion Holiday, and Star Tours (if have not done at WDW). It is too bad about Space and Pirates. But you will have a blast anyway! :goodvibes

Recommend that you arrive before they lower the rope on Main Street. Either board the train or proceed to the back of the Park into Toontown for the little ones (pictures at Mickey or Minnie's house). Have someone get desired FP and meet up in toontown. Once the window has opened for 2nd FP, send an adult out to get them. Enjoy a nice fried chicken meal with carrot cake at the Plaza. Was at WDW in August and surprised to know that they do not have the fried chicken there. Cool off with desserts in the Golden Horseshoe, perhaps you can catch a nice show.

The baby care center is located off Main Street.

You could try for a meal at Minnie's during the MM hour - that'd get you in the park prior to your fellow non MM park visitors......

If you stop at City Hall they can give you a list of all the gluten free food offerings in the park. There are lots of options!
