Any tips for NOT getting wet on SM?

I really want to ride it, but I don't want to get wet!

Is it possible to ride SM and keep dry?

stick a dollar store poncho in your pocket and put it on during the ride- I've only done this once, one night in December when it was actually cold, and I didn't want to walk around the rest of the night in wet clothes!

SM = Space Mountain, so I think you'll be fine.

Sit in the back two rows and duck down as you reach the bottom of the big drop. We rarely get wet and we are there walking around in December, so it must work!

There's always the poncho (or garbage bag) solution, but you run the risk of being mistaken for a volunteer from the Backlot Tour's storm-at-sea demonstration. Truth is, it's pretty hard NOT to get a little bit soggy on Splash Mountain. What you can do, though, is avoid the front row at all costs. Instead, ask to be seated in one of the last two rows; the third from the front is best. Also, sit on the left side of the log -- passengers on the right are fairly likely to get splashed by an unexpected waterfall.

I sat third row and the guy in front of me ducked and I got wet on the upper part of my shirt.

I wore a poncho because it was the last ride we did before we headed to the airport. You have to tuck it in on the sides though, just in case.

Sit in the back row to the left. Wear a poncho. Bring a towel to wipe off the seat. And hope that someone bigger then you sits infront of you

easy answer - get a poncho (not from the park, bring one with you) and ride it wherever you want. NOTE: more chance of wet feet (socks and shoes) the closer you are to the front.

Also, remember that in the summer (hotter) months, the 'splash' level is 'dialed up' (and it is dialed down in the cooler months) in order to keep guests more comfortable.

I was in the front row last month and got SOAKED for the first time ever! After the first little hill, water "poured" into the log. I think it was because our log was filled with adults, thus making it heavier. So my advice is to sit in the back and ride with kids.

Several years ago I was sitting in about the third row on the RIGHT side. After we made the big drop and came around the bend there was a backup of cars. I ended up sitting right next to the waterfall - and we were going nowhere. The water from the waterfall bounced right on me. I was soaked ! Since then I wear a poncho. I don't care if I look like a dork.

It's almost impossible to stay dry...but try the poncho idea

Wear a poncho and make sure it is under your behind when you sit down, hold your feet up when the water comes in and make sure it is tight around your neck or it will pour in the front. I HATE getting wet but like riding so I will be there with my poncho even in August, what is worse than walking around in soggy underwear for hours!

I've had good luck staying dry in the third row, left side. We always request the back of the log.

I have brought a pair of light weight flip flops to the parks to wear on water rides. I just switch my shoes, and wear the flip flops, so my running shoes don't get wet. OH and I wear a poncho.

Whatever you do, DON'T tell the CM that you don't want to get wet. I made this mistake and he put me in the first row. The two guys behind me were having a good time at my expense. I got soaked...in January. Luckily it was a warm afternoon.

We Sat in the 3rd row of the ""log"" and my daughter and I did not get very wet at all. The wettest I got was when my nephew reached out the boat and splashed me ! UGH! But anyways.. I didnt get very wet at all!

3. The greatest danger seems to be from water that's already sloshing around on the seat, so sit on something - a sweatshirt, or whatever - or at the very least pull the back of the poncho under your rear end so your underwear stays dry.

The reactions of the other people in line range from derision (WOW! those people look like dorks) to praise (That is SUCH a good idea!) to downright envy (Why didn't you bring OUR ponchos?).

We're good with all of it.

Sit in the back, even if you are alone in the log... But it's the dryest water ride I have done, so I wouldn't worry too much...

My fiance hates getting wet, so we made sure to be in the back row (in an empty log!!!! )...
