We are heading for our first WDW vacation and have never been to Orlando before. (Well I have been there when I was 18 and straight).:rolleyes1

We are staying two weeks and are wondering if we might feel to outbreak and find some local gay places to hang around in the evenings. Or are there any places in Downtown Disney you would recommend?party:

The other question we do have, are there any places we should avoid totally.

Or is this in general a stupid question because the only thing we will want to do after a day in the parks is to eat and fall asleep

Hello Timben!

This is a great question! ...and you will probably get a different answer from everyone you talk with.

Two years ago, when I was living in Orlando doing the WDW College Program, I found some favorite night spots.

1. Mannequins @ Pleasure Island - Mondays and Thursdays are "unofficial gay nights" (biggest crowd...and most fun is on Thursday). This is because cast members get in free on those days and let's face it, there's a lot of a "family" in the WDW cast! Mannequins is one of my favorite places in the whole world! It's a dance club, focusing on techno remixes of top-40 songs, with a revolving dance floor and some amazing lighting and fog effects. Things usually begin to pick up around midnight.

If you're looking for something to keep you occupied before midnight, head over to the Beach Club for a Shark Bite (a huge drink in a bucket), or try 8-Traxx for some fun retro dancing (tends to be an older crowd). Oh! and don't forget to stop in to Motion at midnight for the Cha-Cha Slide!

2. Jellyrolls! @ Disney's Boardwalk Resort - Tuesdays are the best! Jellyrolls is a dueling piano bar (not especially gay, but fun just the same). Get there early (around 9pm) to get a good table. Be prepared for some crowd participation. If you want to request songs, just write your song on a napkin, wrap it up in a dollar or two (higher tip gets higher priority), and throw it on one of the pianos.

Finally, there's always the big gay clubs in Orlando: Pulse and Parliament House, but I prefer to stay on property, especially after a long day in the parks.

I hope that helps!

All good advice. :teeth: You will be tired too! So, if you do want some late night fun, the above recommendations are the very best.

Places to avoid? Hmmmm... can't honestly say that any one place comes to mind. But then, we really aren't late night people. :upsidedow

In addition to the dance clubs on Pleasure Island, also check out the very funny Comedy Warehouse and the incomparable Adventurers Club. Thursday nights, being "Cast Member Nights" typically means a fairly visible gay presence all over the island. We frequently see a lot of gay guys at the Adventurers Club before they head on over to Mannequins (or "Many Queens" as it's also known. :lmao: ).

Of course if you're not a big fan of the dance clubs, you can just do what we do and spend our entire night at the comedy clubs.

Thanks to all of you. Really appreciated you help.

Seems that we do really find everything we need on our vacation:)

Hi Timben! What a coincidence that I will be there for the same time as you! Although I am with my bf, maybe we could meet and ride some cool rides together ;-) Or check out the pool at night...
