Any thoughts on Tony's Town Square

We are leaving Thursday for WDW and I now am mom to 8yo twin daughters who think that Princesses are for babies?! Anyway I'm thinking of switching one of our dinner res from 1900 Park Fair to Tony's Town Square. We've eaten at 1900 the past 2 visits and Tony's location is much more conveniant. Should I go for it?

Despite the negative reviews, I really like Tony's. The food was good both times we went there... and as for 1900 PF, I haven't eaten there since the renovations a couple years ago so I can't comment on that.

We loved it! We ate there in September. Our 2 year old is a huge fan of Lady & The Tramp, which is the subtle theme of the restaurant. The food, desserts, and service were excellent.

The food isn't great, but the theming is very, very cute. You'll enjoy yourself.

I say go for Tony's. Especially since you have been to 1900 PF before. That's what we are doing. We love 1900 PF, but I have wanted to try Tony's forever.

We really don't understand why people don't like Tony's. Sure, it is not authentic italian cuisine, but the food is delicious, the atmosphere is great, and the location ideal.

Your kiddos will love it, especially if they love italian and Lady and the Tramp!

Just eat at Tony's on Friday, 1/28. Dinner was enjoyable. I had the NY Strip. However, they are renovating. You must use restroom across the way, next to City Hall.

Just wanted to commiserate-- my 8 year old DD is hideously embarrassed that she ever liked princesses. (When we went in 2007, she was just mesmerized by them-- now, I think she'll run the other direction if we happen upon any on our trip next month). Sigh....they grow up too fast.

We thought Tonys wasnt bad at all. The ambiance was nice, the theming very cute, we werent thrilled with our entree, shrimp scampi, the sauce was so thin but I think had we picked the spaghetti, chicken parm or steak it would have been much better! Dessert was great, service was great. I would go back!

Good decision, Jeanne! You tried 1900 Park Fare twice already. Time for something new! Tony's receives mixed reviews, but as you can see from the responses in this thread, plenty of people enjoy it. Now you will discover if you're one of those people!

After spending months reading reviews of restaurants at WDW, I came to the conclusion that everyone has the right to give their opinions and I personally wouldn't base my decisions on the bad reviews or the great reviews, I would go into each meal as an adventure and see what happened. This held true for Tony's, even my travel agent tried to talk me out of it. But it had meals on the menu that I knew our trio would want to try (I am rather picky with food, it has to be simple to please me) so I booked it, and it was a nice experience. Yes, I am sure to gourmet eaters it wasn't the best meal on the property but it wasn't the worst meal either. The appetizers we had were very good, even with me leaving off some ingredients, the entrees were plentiful and tasty and the desserts were middle of the road compared to others we had throughout the world. Would I do it again? Sure, but not until I try out some places that I haven't been to first.

My family were just there yesterday. Everybody was happy with their meal, esp the kids with the spaghetti & meatballs. Give it a try!

I would say the food at Tony's is just average. I know there are a lot of fans out there, but for Italian, there are much better places. Consider the Plaza, has a great kids menu, but it's also got great choices for the adults and there are no Princesses in sight.
