my huband wants to take a diversion from the WDW parks for our upcoming trip this summer. he mentioned Silver Springs, but admittedly he has never been there.

who has and what did you think of it?

worth the admission price? that price on their website seems sort of high for just a nature park. does it include all the extras i the park like the glass bottom boat rides and other attractions. (or do they nickel and dime you once you get in?)

would that and AK in one trip be overkill?

Also, we notice on their site that they have a water park next door. does anyone know if admission to one gets you into both? or are their any discounts out there available for one or the other? (a local thing perhaps)

not sure about the water park.

yes it is a one ticket to everything. they had discount for seniors - it like SW says senior are 55!:thumbsup2

you get in everything for your one day pass - the exceptions are any concerts.

if they are doing a concert and you want to see it I think that is extra.

oh forgot - this can be a long drive on turnpike and I75..... so allow 2 hours each way - that is 4 hours round trip.

it shouldn't take you this long - but it definitely could. (even longer on a bad day)

actually, concerts at Silver Springs are built in to the price of the ticket. If you want VIP seating, that can cost extra - $10-$20 depending on the artist

We go to Silver Springs every time we to Florida because of family living in Ocala. IMO it is not worth the drive from Orlando to go to Silver Springs unless there is a specific concert or event you wanted to go to. It is half day max park. Other than the glass bottom boat ride, there is a Jeep safari type ride and a regular boat ride for "major attractions". Both have gone downhill since the hurricanes hit a couple years ago. When we went last year we were told that a lot of the animals left and have not returned. It pales in comparison to what you would see at Animal Kingdom or Busch Gardens. Tickets are high for what you get. We only go because my grandparents have annual passes so we can get free tickets.
