We are planning a trip over the Thanksgiving holiday this year and are considering the 12th floor at the CR. I know this is concierge "light". Does anyone have any reviews? Do we still get a daybed? Travel party will be me, DH, DS8, DS6 and DS3.

Any comments are greatly appreciated.

TIA

Okay, we've stayed here twice on that floor facing the MK and absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED it! Yes you do get a daybed, the rooms are pretty good size and the view is awesome. The conceirge light is just that, you pretty much get a continenal breakfast service in the hallway near the elevators, but there is a good assortment of pastries, muffins, donuts, cereals, juices, teas and coffee. The afternoon is usually just snacks (baked cookies, brownies, pastries, etc...) and soft drinks, etc. You also get water in your room each day (two or more bottles if you tip well ;-) The service is great the rooms are nice and clean and you just can't beat the location!

HAVE FUN!!!

My wife and 2 girls stayed at the CR 12th floor last November. It was great! Our room faced Bay Lake and we had a great time watching the water parade in the evening. The rooms have 2 queens and a daybed/sofa. The rooms are very comfortable. We enjoyed having a light breakfast in the lounge area (across from the elevators). I highly recommend it ... in fact, we're going back again this November!

We stayed on the 12th floor last Sept and loved it. It is light concierge. They do have a nice breakfest, fruit, bagels, doughnuts, coffe, ceral, etc. The snacks were out in the afternoon. Our kids loved getting off the elevator and eating. The snacks were such things as cookies, rice krispy treats, pretzels, goldfish, m&m candies, lemonade and water. There were not any bottled water or canned sodas. The concierge staff was great. Helped us get some PS's and had some suggestions as to where to eat. You still get a daybed. We had a view of the MK and it was wonderful. Watched Wishes from our room every night.

We've stayed on the 12th floor twice now and absolutely love it!! The breakfast is nice with donuts, cereal, fruit, juices, pastries, etc. In the afternoon they have soft drinks, including lemonade-which my husband liked!,
and assorted cookies and brownies. The best was the view of the castle!!!
Wonderful from our balcony. The large bathroom is great and the room size is good too. Have a good time:)

Thanks all for the quick replies. I am a little confused, though (not usually a tough task ;) ). Is there or isn't there soda and water available? Can the CM's get it for you if you need it? Thanks.

No soda (unless they've recently changed) available on 12. Also, 12 doesn't have a lounge, just stuff near the elevators.

When we stayed on 14, we had plenty of caned soda. They kept the fridge in our room stocked. 14 also has a very nice lounge.

Personally, for *me*, I'd not stay on 12. Just the fact that I'd have to keep running to the food court to fill my mug with soda is a real downer (when staying concierge). I'd rather just have a regular tower room and buy my own snacks.

We have stayed on the 12th floor too many times to count. It is my kids' absolute favorite resort (better than Poly, YC/BC/ Swan, or GF). The arcade is the best of any resort, and the restaurants are fun. You can request soda - they will bring it to you. There is bottled water in glass bottles - as in all the Disney concierge lounges. They let us take a couple to our room and always were offering more. The sitting area by the elevators is nice, I think. We usually take our tray and bring bfast back to our room, though - but to grab a snack and sit there is nice - you can hear Chef Mickeys etc. that keeps you in the magic. I stayed 14th floor one time and would NOT do it again. There is no reason....the CMs are the same, my fridge (in a $1200+ a night suite) was NEVER stocked, the food is the same except for the evenings - which I really was underimpressed with (frozen junk). The 12th is perfect and a good value. In my opinion the 12th is in better over all shape than the 14th floor. Enjoy your stay.

We are staying Tower Club..........12th floor, this thanksgiving vacation. It seemed like an easy decision because it was not that much more $$$ than a standard tower room. Our family would not take advantage of the evening concierge offerings on the 14th because we are rarely around the resort in the evening. We like to go out to eat at the restaurants anyway. Plus 14th floor concierge is a LOT more $$$ than standard tower and 12th floor light concierge. We mostly picked the 12th because of the "guaranteed" VIEW! If you pay for 12th, you WILL be on the 12th floor. In a standard tower room you can only "request" to stay in an upper level room, but it is not guaranteed! Concierge "light" is perfect for our family. Its great for a quick breakfast before heading out to the parks..........with 3 kids! Lunch snacks are great for holding us over before a nice dinner out. If you dont make it for lunch snacks, I have heard they put a plate of snacks in your room, since they close at 4:00. Perfect for us! VERY convienient.
One note........ The Tower club rooms can be very hard reservations to get. There are not many rooms to go around (24 I think), and they are quite popular.........more so during holiday periods. We are staying 17 nights in November/December over Thanksgiving and there were only 4 nights available. This was back in Feb. when we reserved our resorts. 10 months in advance !
Good luck in getting a reservation during Thanksgiving.........Maybe we will see you at the "Tower Club" during the holidays in November!

Just wondering if anyone knows whether the 12th floor concierge lounge has a view of MK, and specifically the fireworks (Disney Wishes)?

We'll have a mini suite / "deluxe room" in the garden wing which comes with "12th floor concierge access". So, we won't have a MK view from our wing room, but will have access to concierge services (incl ADR bookings) and the 12th floor lounge.

I'm also wondering whether we might be able to have access to the 12 floor lounge when we arrive at the CR, even if our room isn't ready yet. I expect we'll arrive via ME bus by around 11am on our check-in day, but obviously we can't count on our room being ready by then.

I'm also wondering where the heck I check in, since we have 12th floor concierge, but our room isn't on or even near the 12 floor. I thought I'd canvass Disboards to see what people's experiences have been, before I email concierge services. (I like to have some vague idea or info under my belt. Total Type A planner that way ;-) ).

Thanks in advance,

The 12th floor is not concierge "light" any more. It has the same exact offerings as the 14th floor. Yes, you can see the MK from the balcony. We were able to get soda and water when we stayed there in December.

When I saw everyone saying the 12th floor was still Concierge light I was thinking since January 1st, 2006 it has been full Concierge just like the 14th floor. Then I saw the OP strated this thread on May 18, 2005 which explains why.

Does this mean there is an actual 'lounge' (separate room) rather than just a bunch of food in the hallway? I can't seem to find any pics of the 12th floor concierge lounge on a google images search....
If there is a room, then that's where we'll be, hopefully with a drink in hand!

That is correct. Here is a link to pictures of the Contemporary on Allearsnet.com and you will see a section of pictures of the new lounge, so just click where you see the words 12th Floor Atrium Club Concierge Lounge. http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/g_contm.htm

Thanks very much from a fellow Torontonian :-) Seeing those pics has confirmed our instincts about staying at the CR, and splurging on the deluxe room with 12th concierge access. (Altho I was one of those lucky folks with a 40% PIN code for booking before March 15, so it's not as extravagant as it could have been!)

You're welcome and I was happy to help. :thumbsup2
