Any suggestions for Thanksgiving? Or is it hopeless to try this late? It would be for 2 DD's 10 & 12, DH and myself.

Call Disney Dining and ask. The worst is that there are zero openings. Best is a possible off time...

We just made reservations for the newly renovated Tusker House in Animal Kingdom. It is now a buffet rather than counter service. They just started taking reservations a few days ago, so there may still be some openings.

We ate at Yacht club galley at the yacht club for Christmas dinner last year. It was a holiday themed buffet.

I am very picky and I thought t was an incredible meal, with an incredible setting.

I too made my ressies last minute because more and more people kept adding onto our group. I orignally had CRT, but had to give it up.

We had a party of 7.

Hi! Like you, we are going to DW during Thanksgiving. I just called a few days ago and was very disappointed in what was left in terms of reservation openings for Thanksgiving meals. For Thanksgiving day, all I was able to get for a table service meal was the Italian restaurant at Epcot. Not very Thanksgivingish. We could have gone to the new restaurant at AK, like the previous poster suggested, but I thought that the food sounded a little weird. However, I won't give up entirely. I will keep calling back periodically, as people do cancel reservations. Good Luck!

Try the Yacht Club Galley or the Grand Floridian Cafe. Also, if dinner isn't available, could you be open to a Thanksgiving late lunch instead?

We actually decided to forgo the whole Thanskgiving meal this year because of the how crowded and insane the restaurants can get. So we're doing our Thanksgiving dinner Saturday night at the Biergarten. As far as we're concerned, we can still give our thanks on the 24th just as well as we could on the 22nd.

You're going to need to be flexible with times and places. A lot of restaurants do a special menu that day; so you may get some of your usual Thanksgiving favorites even if the restaurant doesn't always do typical American style food. Good luck!

I just booked the Biergarten for 1pm. When I booked they told me they are including traditional thanksgiving food on their buffet that day. Tusker House wasn't. Thanks to everyone for the help!:thanks:

Liberty Tree Tavern for Dinner....Its like a family meal....they bring all kinds of meats carved on a plate , macaroni and cheese and other dishes and for dessert we had like apple cobbler with ice cream over it ...also there were characters ...we ate there 2 thanksgivings ago in 2005 but....book fast .....very popular restraunt at magic kingdom next door to the presidents location building....:thumbsup2

At this point in time, you're going to be subject to what is available. Tell the CM to check all times - lunch, late lunch, early dinner, dinner, late dinner, etc. You're going to have to be extremely flexible and open to suggestions. Thanksgiving doesn't have to be a turkey dinner. Take the opportunity to try something new. Maybe you'll try a restaurant that you've never considered before. Be adventurous! Good luck.

I doubt it's open at this point, but we ate at the castle for Thanksgiving Dinner (evening) a few years ago and loved it! FANTASTIC food!!

Several yrs ago we were there at Thanksgiving and found out that several of my cousins were also there at that time. My daughter and I had ADR's at the Garden Grill in Epcot, but cancelled them since we were now meeting with family. We had no luck getting any ADR's that day for the new "group" in any of the parks, but we were able to find some ADR's at the resorts. We took the monorail over to the Poly and walked right in at Kona and had a wonderful meal. My DD still considers this one of her best Thanksgiving meals.
