Can anyone recomend a TA that will offer a discount or perc for switching a 3 night ressie I booked directly thru DCL. I booked it before they started offering the $50 on-line discount. I'm not greedy, just would like to take advantage of any percs out there, especially since this is our 1st cruise. Thanks.

cruisequick.com is offering free gallons of gas. They also usually have some of the best prices. Great customer service but you have to be comfortable with email communication.

Many of the online Disney specialist agencies offer rebates or shipboard credits, which bring the prices below those Disney offers.

I just transferred our res for 6/06 (made onboard last month) to AAA travel agent today (I'm a AAA member) and got additional shipboard credit. This was for a 7 day Magic, but think they would offer something for shorter cruises.

I didn't transfer, but I did check around for lowest prices, found Sam's Club was cheapest, then AAA matched it and gave me the onboard credit to boot! I hear the usual time for AAA to have Disney Cruise sales is in January, possibly more perks! :cool1:

Goodluck!!

I had a similar experience last year when booking our 6/05 cruise. I checked several agencies mentioned on the boards, including AAA. They met the lowest price I found elsewhere (had to email them the quote), then beat it w/a $$ discount and shipboard credit.

Has anyone ever transferred a res from one TA to another TA (i.e. DU to AAA)? Didn't know if this was plausible, or not.

(always looking for the best deal around)

It is possible to transfer from one TA to another, but....the first TA has to release the ressie back to DCL, then it can be transferred to another TA. THe first TA has to agree to this.

If he/she didn't book the ressie or do any work on it, they might be willing to release it. However, if they did the work of booking the trip, they are certainly entitled to their commission--thus to keeping the ressie.

Of course, you can cancel the whole trip and rebook, but depending on the pricing, it may have gone up considerably since your original booking.

I just booked yesterday with a TA who offered thru cruisecompete.com to give me a $250 shipboard credit for transferring our ressie. We were already getting $25 credit for paying with Disney Visa and she said the $250 would add to that. If I put her name and info here I know it will blank it out so e-mail me if you want her name and number. She's been very helpful and specializes in Disney vacations.
