I will be bringing my girl scout troop (12 girls) to the Fort in October. We have 2 sites reserved...hoping for the 100 or 200 loops, to make for easy walking to the boat.

Anyway..we will be packing lunches to bring to the parks to eat to save money, and eating at camp for dinner.

Where would be a good place out of the way to eat in the parks (MK, EPCOT and Animal Kingdom), I am hoping for a little shade and quiet? Wondering if anyone else does this? Also, I read we can eat at the tables outside of Casey's corner, but I would feel weird if we are not buying food there!

Thanks for your help!

Will you be renting the tents they offer (as pictured on the Disney site, Ft. Wilderness)? They hold a good bunch of people, are set up for you, and are not very expensive.

With that many eaters, I'd cash in on the chicken and fixin's offered at Trails End. Lots of chicken (20 pieces per deal) with plenty of sides, if I recall correctly. Try that out and head over to the campfire for Smores and a movie!!

Sounds like a great trip coming your way!

We are bringing our own tents and gear.

We are planning on getting the Giddy up and go one night and getting pizza delivered from Papa Johns or Dominoes another night, and grilling burgers and hot dogs our 3rd night. So dinners are pretty much set.

Lunch is my main concern as far as finding a good place to stop and not be in everyone's way!

Thanks... I think we will try to do a movie!

It really depends on when in October you come. The parks are pretty busy during the latter part of October and especially weekends. During the week, most of the parks are relatively quiet and finding a nice quiet, shady space is easy. We've always brought our lunches to MK and we eat wherever we can find a place to sit. If we've ever sat in an area that was seating for counter service, we've never been told to take our sack lunches and hit the bricks. ;)

Just remember that F&W is going on at Epcot in October and each year that goes by, the more and more crowded it gets.....

You'll see alot of packed lunches at the parks. Enjoy your camping trip! 12 girls in tents in those loops in October???!!!! Good times!

We will be going Oct 10th- 14th. We have a Youth Education Series class scheduled for one of the days and it starts before the park opens...so hopefully that will help!

Thanks for all of your suggestions!...keep 'em coming!:goodvibes

I'll offer three places in the MK all close to each other and usually not too busy.

The first is to take the spoke in front of the castle going to Liberty Square. As you cross the bridge the Old Christmas Shoppe is on your left. Before it and behind it is a shaded area with some benches. Can also be accessed from the spoke going to Adventureland.

The second is on the spoke to Adventure land just as you walk into it and under its sign is a little concession/seating area on the right, Aloha Isle. Its not much used IMO.

The third is across from the Ye Old Christmas Shoppe previously mentioned is a little concession stand, Sleepy Hollow, that sells funnel cakes, etc. Behind it (on the castle side) is a shaded eating area not much used.

I hope one of these three work. And thanks for taking the girls camping. I've taken Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts camping but never to the Fort/WDW. Must be cool!:thumbsup2

Here are a few places that may work. There is a new area over by It's a small world. It looks like the town from Tangled movie. Has places to sit, and rest rooms are there also. Over in Tomorrow land, there are three places. There are tables over by the Gran Prix track before you get to Space Mtn. Also tables at the Lunching Pad that is under the AstroOrbiter Ride, plus benches all around over there. Then there is the Tomorrow Land Terrace Restaurant area, always extra tables over there.

My DW is a Girl Scout leader also, she has camped with her troop at the Fort also, Had a great time. Back in the day, I was in Boy Scouts with my son, took the troop to the Fort twice. Have fun!!!pirate:

THANKS SO MUCH!!!

This is exactly what I was looking for! Will definitely plan on checking these out! Really excited to check out the area around the Christmas shoppe. Never really looked there before....always just walk through!

My sugesstions:

Magic Kingdom - Tomorrowland Terrace is only opperated seasonally so it may be closed in October. The tables and chairs are still there so it would probably be a good choice. Also crossing the bridge from tomorrowland toward the castle is a pathway on the right that leads down to a covered area by the water that at one time was probably a loading/unloading area for a water attraction. It is covered and there are benches there. It is also out of the way.

Epcot - I would use the seating area at the food court in the Land building. I would also go there on non-peak hours (skip 12:00-2:00). It will likely be less crowded in October due to the Wine and Food Fest. During the Wine and Food Fest pretty much all the eating areas in the World Showcase are taken.

Animal Kingdom - In Asia on the way to the rapids ride there is a counter service resurant on the left that has outside seating and is pretty open. I would consider this, but go during non-peak hours. Also walking from the park entrance (stay to the right) towards Africa there are pathways to the right that lead to viewing areas with a few benches. This maybe an option. Also in Africa, right before you get to the Safari ride is a small snack stand on the right. There are a few benches in the shade behind it. I also think there are some outside tables you may be able to use at Restrauntasorus
