Any suggestions on when to make a room request?

We are going to stay at the Beuna vista Palace late Feb early March and would like to know when would be a good time to call and ask for a room request. I hear the "fireworks view" side of the resort is exceptional. If anyone has requested a room, or has any input on this topic please share.
