Any suggestions for what to do on arrival day?

My flight gets in at 2:20 so I guess best case scenario we will get to Disney around 3:30. I see that check in is at 3. So with looking around the hotel and stuff and dinner at 6, what we could do after dinner? We will be staying at the Polynesian. I don't think we want to go to any of the parks that night, too expensive. But I want to do something fun to "Wow" my son for the first night!
