We have been going to Disney for many years, but havn't eaten at many of the fine dining restraunts that Disney offers. My fiance and I are getting married on May 22, 2010 and honeymoon for two weeks in Disney :) We are not doing the food plan and are open to any suggestions that anyone has! We know for sure that we are def. going to Le Celliar in Epcot. What do you think about Coral Reef for a honeymoon?

Thanks!!! :)

just took our honeymoon in May. We enjoyed CRT breakfast our first morning..and our other 'big' one was Narcoossee's for the sweetheart dinner for two. We did this on our last night and it was great. You can see my reviews on my dining review link in my siggy for other places we went :) Enjoy and have a wonderful time :) congrats too!

If you are talking fine dining, not on the plan, romantic and money is no issue, that would be Victoria & Alberts.

Most romantic in-park restaurant would be Bistro de Paris in Epcot.

We are planning our Honeymoon for December and a few must do's that we have are:
Le Cellier
California Grill
Coral Reef
Narcoossee's

We loved the Coral Reef on our last trip. We were seated right by the tank and loved that ambience.

So far for the signature restaurants we have done a few

Narcoossee's
Citricos
Yachtman's Steak House
Artist Point
California Grill
Artist Point
Coral Reef

I have to say they were all great places. If I had to pick one, I would have to pick Narcoossee. The view of the castle and being near water was just beautiful. I would suggest to look over the menu's and see what appeals to you. I do not think you can go wrong with any of the signature restaurants.

We really enjoyed the Coral Reef, but we had an extra special event there. Mickey was actually scuba diving in the tank and went up to all of the windows. Our waiter said we were REALLY lucky because it only happens a few times a year.

11 years ago on our honeymoon Yachtsman Steakhouse was the first restaurant we visited. We couldn’t have been happier.

I would note the real source of the popularity of Le Celliar is the dining plans. I would steer you toward the Yachtman's or Shula (Dolphin Resort) I am not sure how many TS restaurants you plan on dining at during the two week stay but I would recommend:

Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian Resort
Citricos at the Grand Floridian Resort
Yachtman's Steak House at the Yacht Club Resort
California Grill at the Contemporary Resort
Bistro de Paris in Epcot World Showcase-France
V&A at the Grand Floridian Resort
Jiko at the Animal Kingdom Lodge
Blue Zoo at the Dolphin Resort
Flying Fish within the Epcot Resort Boardwalk Area

First Choice - Victoria and Alberts.

Second Choice - Bistro de Paris (upstairs at the France Pavilion)

No hesitation, Victoria & Alberts. It is An Experience. We went there on our honeymoon, and it was our most memorable meal--even 13 years later! :goodvibes

Hey! We got back from our honeymoon almost 2 months ago and our favorite meal by far was California Grill...DH loved it and said it was a must do for every trip. IF you want more info, I reviewed it in my signature link!

10 years ago on my honeymoon, we went to V&A on the 1st day of the new milenium 1/1/00. Also went to Cali Grill and watched the fireworks. I would highly recomend V&A, its a once in a lifetime experience

For a special dinner I would suggest Citricos at GF or California Grill at Contemporary, both are very good & nice.

We loved Narcoosee's and Jiko when we honeymooned at Disney in June.

We are eating at both again for our 1 year anniversary in May. :)

We did Yachtsman's Steakhouse on our honeymoon. Cali Grill is also a wonderful experience.

I would highly recommend Narcoossee's. It is a staple for every one of our trips. If you book it at the right time, you can see the electrical water pageant and Wishes from the restaurant. It's beautiful and the food is excellent! :)

To directly answer the question, I don't think Coral Reef is a good honeymoon spot. Too many children for one thing, and the "tier" seating isn't particularly romantic either.

Flying Fish (a traditional eating spot ever since)
Yachtsman's Steakhouse
Bistro de Paris
Ca Grille (but the children and fireworks crowd) It gets noisy. We always opt for an early dining time.

We dined at Coral Reef during our Honeymoon, and have never gone back. Not impressed with either the food or the atmosphere.

That being said: for something different: Beaches and Cream. Try it around 5pm, between the afternoon ice cream rush and the dinner rush. Get some shakes, comfort food, and finish with ice cream. Pure 50's style romance.

Victoria & Albert's...almost 10 years later and we still recommend it and talk about it. Congratulations!

First off - early congratulation!

Now ... we just finished a vacation at The World and DW and I had our "date night" (i.e., not little one) at California Grill and it was by far the best meal of the trip and one of the top couple of meals of our lives. From being able to watch the fire works from the viewing deck to the amazing food and great service it was just awsome.

I will say that it was a little noisy and there were some kids running around a bit - but it is Disney, there will be kids.

If you do pick CA grill I would suggest a later seating as by about 10 or so it got quiter (you can still go up to see the fire works even if your seating isn't during them)

We enjoyed Coral Reef 15 years ago on ours, now it's more affordable comparatively so crowds are worse.
The resort restaurants are the best shot at romantic atmosphere with $$$$=romance. The more the place costs the more likely it won't be over-run and loud.
