Any suggestion for a nice hotel around Disneyland for Wedding night?

My fiance and I will be getting married May 1st, and plan on spending our wedding night in Anaheim near Disneyland. We did look at the Disney Hotels, but decided against it since we won't be getting there until late and are only able to stay the one night. (Maybe another time for that one!)

Now we're frequent Disneyland visitors, but usually stay in budget friendly hotels that are bare bones and basic. For our wedding night, we want to have a nice comfortable bed with comfy sheets and just a nice room! :) Maybe a spa tub? Something a little more fancy then the Quality Inn, especially since this is basically our honeymoon!

So does anyone have any suggestions for a nice hotel to stay in that night around there? I think there is a Hilton and Marriott around there, so I'm looking for some opinions. :)

Thanks!

Are you going to the parks or not?

Yes there are nice hotels (Marriot and Hilton) near the convention center. Also quite a few more than that. You might even try pricelining one if you just want a room at one for a good price.

For a hot tub room, lots of the smaller hotels/motels have one, but you might just want nice room in a nicer hotel.

Since its just the two of you I agree with previous post. Use Priceline. You will get a 3 or 4 star hotel for $40-$80. Last year we did this several times and stayed at the Hilton Convention Center, Red Lion, Crowne Plaza and others. All very nice hotels. Most of these do charge $10-$15 parking but even so far cheaper than paying rack rates. You can get a good idea of what hotel you will get by looking at betterbidding.com or biddingfortravel.com.

Hotwire is also a good place to look for a great rate on a 3 or 4 star hotel. Not as good of deal as priceline but easier to identify which hotel you will be getting.

For our upcoming trip we used Hotwire and booked the Radission Suites near Knotts for $70. Very large suite room and free full breakfast.

We are not sure if we are going to the parks yet, as we're on a weird time frame after the wedding. (We're moving to another state on Tuesday!)

But we wanted to stay down there so if we decided to go the park Monday morning, we could! It doesn't have to be walking distance, but in that general area.

Thanks for the suggestions; I've never actually used hotwire or priceline. Thanks. :-)

If you do priceline. Try 3.5 or 4 stars for the Disneyland area.

Since your not sure on the park don't worry about being really close. If you are further than walking you can use ART to get there and back if need be.

mm best western park place inn has rooms that offer spa tub rooms.. they are pretty nice from what i have seen and heard and have gotten good reviews from other dismembers...and it's across the street, and probably worth it if just for one night, i think also some of them have balconys.. :thumbsup2 so wow congrats!! on your wedding...:bride:

We've also done priceline for hotels near DLR (4 star). One time we got the Hyatt and one time we got the Hilton and they were both around $50-$60 a night (not including parking). And definitely do what the PP suggested and look at betterbidding.com before you bid. It will help you understand the process and also give you a very good idea of which hotel you are likely to get.

Thanks!! I can't wait! :)

I'll check out the Best Western and the other sites everyone suggested!

Thanks everyone!

The Sheraton Anaheim is nice! You can park there and take their shuttle over.

And congratulations!!!

If you use hotwire and get the 4 star in the closest reagion it wall be a great hotel. Hotwire is easy & works great for excatly ouyr type of situation.
Plus it's SO fun!!! A real, true surprise in life is pricelss :)

Hey, congratulations.

My only suggestion is to avoid Priceline. There is no way to identify your hotel (unlike hotwire with the help of HotelDealsRevealed.com). We booked a Disneyland south hotel that was actually about 3 miles away. Doubletree Anaheim. Very fine hotel, with a shuttle. Only problem was that the shuttle only runs every hour. If the weather is yucky like it was last week, an hour can seem like a long, long time.

We've used Priceline several times now and we've always had a pretty good idea of which hotel we're getting based on the info at betterbidding.com. We don't go into it blindly.

We just stayed at the Hilton March 13th-16th, and we were VERY pleased. 4 star hotel for sure. Used priceline for the very first time, too. You can read my review HERE. If you're not too concerned about getting a hefty discount (like by using priceline), check their website for the package deal that includes their huge and very nice breakfast buffet for $124 per night, plus $15 for parking. That might be a nice splurge. Disney view rooms are $20 extra. The Marriott has a comparable package that also includes a yummy buffet, but their price ($139) includes parking, too. And you can request a fireworks view room at no additional charge, though it's not guaranteed. Both hotels are nice, and are right across from each other. In my opinion, the Hilton might be a little nicer, especially since their pool area will have just been remodeled when you go.

In any case, be sure to tell them it's your honeymoon/wedding night! You're much more likely to get a free upgrade or some extra pixie dust if they know that you're newlyweds! Congratulations and have fun!

Why not stay at The Grand Californian, for such a Grand occasion!

I'm going to go in a different route for you....if you're not sure what time you'll be arriving, but you'll be arriving before fireworks...maybe pick a hotel with a Disney view so you can watch the fireworks from your hotel room?

I'd also call the hotel directly (not the 800#'s...find the actual number for the hotel) and tell them it's your wedding night. I'd do the same for the Disney hotels too. Tell them you're on a budget, but you want to make it special for your bride. The reservationist may end up to upgrade you for free or throw in some champagne, treats, etc. If you priceline/hotwire a room and call afterwards, they will be less tempted to do anything to work with you.

If you do choose to use either priceline or hotwire, definitely go to www.betterbidding.com beforehand. They have a system based on the stars and amenities of knowing what your hotel will be. I've used this method MANY times when booking hotels and they have yet to be wrong with telling me what hotel I'm going to end up with.

Congrats! Have a great wedding night!
