CMATT,
We bought 8 tickets round trip out of KC to Orlando for less than 145 each back in July for our Dec trip. This was before the Sept 11 attack & our group does not like to fly but could not pass up the great deal we got. We were all frightened before the attack and since then it has only gotten worse. My husband is getting the truck ready for a road trip so ask him and I'm sure he would love to let his ticket go. The kids are just as upset. How do you make your kid understand that you THINK everything will be okay? Good luck on getting a good deal.
We find the best fares on www.Orbitz.com but you have to book fast as they sometimes dissapear literally within minutes. I had brought up a cheap United flight to Orlando for one of our upcoming trips, and by the time I had asked my hubby if I should book it (no more than 5 minutes), it was no longer available.
If you find a fare on Orbitz, doublecheck the particular airline's own website to see if it is any cheaper there. Some of them give discounts for internet bookings on their websites. ATA does this, but apparently they also offer the discount for booking via Orbitz as the price was the same either way for the Easter weekend flights we just booked.
For some reason, we find cheaper fares on Orbitz than Expedia, even when checking both at the same time.
