I would love to learn to spin as I can use my Samoyeds' fur for yarn(mixed with wool, angora or alpaca). Since knitting is not really "my thing"...weaving it after is something that interests me.

But spinning wheels and looms costs lots of $$$$$$! So, we'll see. I'd like to find a used wheel in good condition some time.

Just curious how long it takes to learn this skill and how difficult it is. Looks relaxing.

TIA

Funny you posted this. I was traveling up by the MA/VT line a few days ago, and I passed this farm that gives spinning demonstrations. I didn't have time to stop, but was thinking to myself that I'd like to go to that and see if it's something I think I can do.

Spinning has always been something I have wanted to learn to do. I have never looked into it. I have never even been in a position to grab the opportunity if it presented itself.

Well, if I ever get around to doing it ....I'll let you know! For me it is away to make the fur from brushings useful and when my pooches are gone, I'll still have something to remember them by.:D
