My fiancee and I got engaged last December, but that is another posting. Anyway, we are talking about getting married while visiting WDW in the future. We would do it with our children present, and maybe a few other relatives. We don't anticipate a formal wedding, rather a simple ceremony followed by a simple, but nice dinner. Does anyone have any suggestions about where to have the ceremony performed or where to go to dinner after the ceremony?::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

welcome to the DIS Dave.
disney has intimate wedding for groups of 10-12 or less which includes the cermony, cake, photo, and a couple of other things. locations vary from the wedding pavilion to the beach of sunset pointe (where we're getting hitched).
dinner depends on how formal or laid back you woul like. we're going over to citricos at the GF, but i've read of peple going to chef mickey's

We had an intimate ceremony at Sunset Point (beach at Poly) at 5pm followed by dinner at 1900 fare 7pm and then when out to the Marina behind GF and watched the fireworks. Good luck w/ your planning.

Yachtsman Steakhouse is a wonderful place for dinner after a wedding. The food is very good and so is the service.

I second the vote for the Yachtsman steakhouse. While we didn't eat our wedding dinner there, my boss took us to dinner there along with several of my co-workers who had made the trip for the wedding. We went the night after the wedding, but with all the attention that the staff paid us, you would have thought we had been married right before dinner. They were fantastic, and the food was top notch!

We had our at the Celebration Hotel.

It was the perfect compromise for us. The town and atmosphere for a wedding was great. I suggest you download the video and watch it.

Afer your wedding you have dinner in thier restuarant. All the meals are prepared before hand. Since everything is in the same location it really makes for a great ceremony.

Hope this helps.

I'd really love to get married in Disney, my thoughts (or maybe I shoudl say questions) are..

It's me and my fiance..
my mom and dad
I'm sure my sister

we have 5 kids between us, ages 3-10 (will be 4-11) when we get married.

My brother and his wife may come along... and perhaps 3 other people...

do our kids count as "guests" I mean full adult guests?

When I talked with my SM she had told me that the children count towards the final count if they are under 10 and the children would not be $100/person after 8 guests. HTH

I know that it probably makes sense to others but not to me, lol

if they are OVER 10 they dont count? or they do?

if they are under 10 it doesn't count towards the $100 extra?

The kids in April will be 4, 5, 7, 10 and 11

Your Mom, Dad, sister, brother, sister-in-law, and 3 others are your 8 guests. The 10 and 11 year olds will cost an extra $100 each, the other 3 kids are free. This gives you a total of 13 guests, you can have 2 more people, but if they are 10 or older they will cost an extra $100 each. I hope this helps.

Thank you all for your suggestions. We are beginning to make our plans for next year.

I would suggest you check out www.yourfairytale.com
You'll find a ton of info on Disney weddings.

Until then, I just wanted to let you know which locations host intimate weddings.

1. The wedding pavilion
2. The Garden Gazebo at the Yacht Club Resort
3. Sea Breeze Point, which is a covered Pavilion at the end of the Boardwalk (My personal Favorite)
4 Sunset Point, which is a spot behind the Polynesian resort that overlooks Cinderella's Castle
5. Sunrise Terrace. This is a Terrace at the Wilderness lodge.

If you 've never been to these sites before, you can find pictures of each of them on the site I mentioned above.
And just a suggestion, before you make your final decission, I would get a lot of info on each site (some sites have certain restrictions that others don't)and make sure you see plenty of pictures. Don't go with a site or Not go with a site based on the first picture that you see. Disney can add decor to each location to personalize it to your own event.

Good luck, and if you ned help or have more questions, feel free to post them or PM me!

We had our intimate wedding at Sunset Pointe and a dinner at O'hana at the Polynesian. We had a whole tropical theme. It was lovely! Megan

we are having our intimate wedding at the wilderness lodge at 5pm followed with dinner at whispering cannon.

for guests, my mom, dad, 2 sisters, 2 1/2 year old son, 2 family friends, 1 set of grandparents.

We had our intimate at Sunset Pointe and had 12 adults and 4 children. After the cake and champaigne toast our guests to the limo back to their resorts and John and I went to the GF. I arragned a "romance dinner" with private dining on the marina. It was perfect for the two of us.

Hello everyone,

I noticed that several of you had your ceremony at Sunset Pointe which is where I am having mine in Oct. 2005. Does anyone have photos that they wouldn't mind sharing? Our ceremony is at 5pm with dinner to follow.

Thanks everyone!!

LAH

We got married at 5 pm at Sunset pointe. Our pic are in the picture post at the top.

There is only going to be 6 of us in our party. We are having an intimate wedding at the pavilion, I fell in love with it as soon as i saw it and then we are having a dinner at California Grill. One of the main reasons I wanted it there was so that we could watch the fireworks and make it that extra bit special.

Have fun planning. :D

A few of you have asked, so to update everyone. The woman with whom I was engaged when this thread began a couple of years ago is no longer part of my life. We split up about a year ago, and have moved on with our lives.

For the rest of you still planning your Disney Weddings, good luck.

Don't worry about me, I am beginning to meet some new women who like me, are big Disney fans.
