Any significance to Dec. 26?

I was just looking at the availability tool, and this date stands out as being booked solid at Poly...but the rest of the week is pretty wide open. Wondered if there is an event or something I'm not thinking of?

People spending Christmas at home but New Years at the parks? Surprise Christmas trips? The 25th is frequently available even last minute, but the days following are often booked up well in advance.

The perplexing thing was that it's only the 26th. Then it's wide open until the weekend leading up to NYE. Weird. Only thing I can deduce from looking at the RAT in general is there are a LOT of locals (driving distance) using DVC, or a LOT of people that go for 1-2 days.

I could see a cross over of people who are there for Christmas and then those coming for a week or so for NYE but who don't want to cover 2 holidays nor travel on Dec 25th

That probably makes as much sense as anything, because we would likely go from 26-2 if we ever did that trip.

Boxing Day is a holiday here in Canada, so lots of us from up north would be spending extra time

It is a common phenomenon. When you see one day full during a busy time, all that is usually happening is that days around it are also almost full, and the one day just had slightly more demand than the others.
