Any show to replace the Extreme Ghostbusters show?

I never really was a big fan of the Extreme Ghostbusters show, but I watch it every now and then if I want to finish off a beer or I'm waiting for a Universal Express pass window to open. The show was entertaining and I was sad to see it go. Is there word on another show that will occupy the Extreme Ghostbusters stage, or will the steps of the New York Public Library remain quiet?

I remember at the last show, a young girl had a sign that said she watched 300 Ghostbusters shows! I think I've seen 10. Sometime last year, I walked by the Ghostbusters stage quite often and I saw a teenage girl sitting on a bright yellow cushion. She sat on that cushion, as if she was waiting for Boston Red Sox World Series tickets.

Well hey there! I was at the last show as well...it was cute what GIG2 said about the little girl who saw 300 shows (he also mentioned that "there may be some of you may have seen more...." Who....muah?? :))

I am not aware of anything replacing the Extreme Ghostbusters Show in the near future. The New York Public Library facade just seems like a pointless deadend now...I would have loved to have seen them evolve the show into something else (along the same lines, just not Ghostbusters), but it's hard to say at this point. Now, I've heard my share of rumors, but I don't like passing them on without confirmation, so if I ever hear anything from a reliable source, I'll pass the word.

BTW - you can check out my website and messageboard for the video of the final GB Show and a GB Tribute I had made if you or anyone else is interested. :wave2:

I liked your video of the show! I have dial up internet so my DS had a friend download it for us and put it on a CD. He kept a copy for himself as he enjoyed it also! THANKS!! ;)

We saw this show in Aug 2003 and my whole family loved it. We went back with the camcorder another day, but it was cancelled due to rain. We plan on being back in Feb 2006 and I am so disappointed that the show is over! :sad2:

Thanks for the video. I know my kids will be psyched to see it when they get home from school today.

Why did they end it anyway? It's not like it cost a lot to run it since there was really no special effects.

Oh well.....

While there were rumors of other reasons, the one that everyone went with was dealing with contracts with Sony (who owns the rights of Ghostbusters). I believe it was Sony that ended the contract without allowing renewal, but I could be mistaken. (Also heard that Sony didn't like the Beetlejuice character mixed in with Ghostbusters, but I can't see why...I thought it was clever).

A lot of locals were disappointed with the end of the show, so hopefully they'll decide to find something they can do in its place. I still like the idea of Beetlejuice posessing "tourists" in place of GBs. Simple enough change since not too much Ghostbuster material was used in reality. Of course, it's easy for all of us to come up with ideas, but who knows what those who can make actual decisions can come up with, or if they'll bother with any of the ideas at all.

I'm glad you all liked the videos. In case anyone had trouble locating my Tribute video (it's not linked on the actual website, unlike the final show), here's the link: Clare's Public EGB Tribute

Claire, Claire. I was worried about you after that ended. I trust the ghostbuster termination support group stuck together. I was thinking, if you still miss the guy in oranges dance thrusts, you could pop in an old Michael Jackson video and imagine him with an orange jump suit.

I miss the show, but popped into this thread to :wave2: to Fly Fly....

Still happy I ran into you at the GB show.... Love your site!

Hey Laura! It has been a while, but it was nice running into you too! :cool1:

Next we need to group up and go drool over Kabob over at Sinbad.... :rotfl: Only kidding! :)

Gosh dangit! My mom's screenname again. LOL This is Flyfly!!!!
