Any September guests received FP+ testing invite?

This has probably been discussed 1000 times but bare with me. I booked my trip last minute & last time I was in Disney none of this fastpass+ stuff was even imagined. Please answer if you can!! I leave september 15 and want this trip to go smoothly...

1. If i don't participate in FP+ can I still get regular fast passes? I wasn't invited to test for AKL 9/15-9/22. At least i don't think I was... I booked through a TA. When I click "make fastpass+ selections" it tells me to link my tix, which are already linked?

2. I have a package res, and a one night room only res - was i correct in customizing two sets of magic bands? What if I get them mixed up?

Am I on the right path? Feel so out of the loop and in a panic! Thanks

Yes, you can use regular fastpass the same as always. It's odd that you've been able to customize magicbands but you can't make FP+ selections. There could be an issue with your linked tickets (you should probably call your TA or Disney IT to make sure the tickets are properly linked.)

I am a little confused as to whether we would be allowed to get fast passes at the parks if we have the fp + linked with our ticket. If we use our fp+, will we then be able to get more fp for later in the day?

From what's been reported you can use your room key card or your ticket for more FPs. If you ticket is part of your package you only need your room key card. I have an AP so I'd need my ticket.

FP+ is limited to three selections per day. Even if you use those 3, you can't get any more FP+.

Regular old FP, however, is not limited, and even if you have FP+, people have reported no issues also obtaining regular FP, even if you've used all your FP+.

The morality of this has been hotly debated, however.:joker:

Thanks. Our FP+ is linked to our magic bands, so I wasn't sure if the room key or ticket will work for regular FP at the parks. I do understand that there are only 3 per day for the + choices. Guess I can ask when we get there, but the CM don't always know the answer!

If you book the ghost reservation without an AP, but have a package starting the same day at a non participating resort, does that qualify as valid park admission?

I guess the best way for me to figure this out is to just bite the bullet, but I'm scared I'm going to mess something up on my reservation-just don't want to hear the yapping of DH if I mess it all up:rolleyes2

I booked a RO the night before my my check in date for the package that includes tickets (no AP). Immediately I was able to customize bands and add FP+ on MDE. This was a completely separate reservation number from the package and is listed on MDE in addition to the package ressie number. So I do not see how it could mess anything up with the package. Now if I could just figure out if I should cancel my RO ressie or just eat the cost...

I am so glad that you could clarify what I have been doing all these years since I had no idea. I'm not the only person that it works like this for. Just because you were looking for a way to cheat the system doesn't make me an idiot. I know what I'm doing. Thanks.

Cheating the system...awesome. Can't wait to post my FP+ and paper FP experiences then!

Whenever I've used the child swap in the past, I've never been asked for a second FP. I guess i've been lucky then. I was just trying to figure out how it would work with FP+. I will go post in the August read to see if anyone has any personal experience with FP+ and child swap.

I logged in today and was able to make fast pass selections for end of September trip but I never got an e-mail. Does anyone know how to link halloween party tickets as that is the only tickets that are not linked?

Also, some of the times were not very good, do more times open up or are you stuck with those.

If we do this test, can we also get regular fast passes as well or are we stuck with these?

Thanks!

Our MNSSHP tickets were mailed to us so i used the code on back of ticket to link them. We havd 4 adult tickets and 1 child and for some reason I cant link the child ticket but the other 4 worked fine.

When the RO ressie was cancelled were you able to see the previously made FP+selections under "my plans"? I know you had no access to change them but could you see them at all?

My "Manage Magic Bands" menu option on the app disappeared. It l looked like it did before I had the Pop reservation. When I hit FP+, I got the calendar view with the front message that there were no people on my reservation with FP eligibility for those days. It was the same thing that was happening before I booked Pop, so it wasn't going to let me into FP+ to make changes.

I didn't think about going in through My Plans. I may cancel again and see if that works.

Sorry for all of the questions-will you physically check in for your Pop reservation, or just do online?

Sounds awfully close to a personal attack to me.... ;)

And this is how the swap system was explained to me by the CMs on our very first trip and how it played out at every ride and every trip from then. It's not something I made up myself. LOL

And sitting out for hours upon hours with toddlers and preschoolers trip after trip after trip isn't as fun and exciting as it sounds.

Morality is a moot point. This is expressly allowed by Disney. I already posted the quote from the CM MM+ reference guide stating that guests are allowed to pull from both systems during testing. It's the answer to how many FP+ selections can I make?

Thanks Msmomo - This is the quote under Fastpass+ on my reservation page:

"You have not yet added FASTPASS+ arrival times for attractions entertainment or quick service restaurants"

Curious what the quick service restaurants options would be.

MsLisaG - thanks for your response - Enjoy your first stay at POR - it is my favorite resort - have stayed there at least 15 times!!

Not @ a computer yet but when you click make fastpass+ selections it brings you to the attractions available for that day...I talked to a cm and she said that not everything is loaded for the end of Sept yet its a process....I'm hoping they will add wishes and illuminations

Just curious- think I may just eat the cost of the Pop ressie and not risk it though.

If I decided to keep the reservation and eat the cost I will check in online. I have heard that it may be possible to cancel the RO ressie and still keep access to MB and FP+. If that is true, then I will do that.

We got an e-mail on Tuesday asking us if we would like to participate AND a UPS letter with the same invite yesterday! Never thought we'd be asked, so we never had any thought about it. We are going to call today and ask a few questions before we commit, but I think we will go for it! It's Disney, what could go wrong!?

Just a little FYI for my fellow Fastpass+ testers.. I was able to book WISHES and MSEP today on MDE. I booked them for 9/16. You might wanna check your selections and see if they are available for you too :goodvibes

So I booked a ghost RO res at Pop, customized and received my MBs. I booked FP+ options with no problem for our entire trip. I then canceled the room at POP to see what would happen. My access to FP+ was gone immediately but I could see my MBs on the account. I then rebooked a room at Pop. All of my previously booked Fastpasses were still there.
I intend on keeping the room this time, but if you cancel, I wonder if your Fastpasses would still work? You couldn't make any changes, of course, but do they still exist in the system? Just something to ponder!

I read about someone printing out their FP+ selections because she was worried about a system glitch. There did happen to be one and she losta FP+ that she scheduled. The CM at the ride looked at the print out as conformation and let them on.
