Any rumors on 2014 package rates?

I've heard conflicting information on when you can actually BOOK the reservation for the package. Even though the rate comes out now, I can't book August 2014 until mid-August this year. What can you really do?

Once the 2014 rates are released, you are able to book anytime for 2014.

you can only book up to 499 from your check out date. If the rates are released now you won't be able to book the last couple of months of the year until later on. This is one of the reasons they used to release the following year packages in August so that they could release the whole year at once but then people complained when restaurant reservations went from 90 days to 180 days that they couldn't book all their res at once and pay for things like castle and dinner shows instead of being able to use their dining plan. For example booking January restaurants in July

I would hope that they release the packages before the 180 days for January 1st opens up

If you are booking for the following year prior to new rates being released, then the 499 days out is accurate. But once the new rates come out, you are able to book for the entire year.

I heard from my AAA travel agent yesterday that the rates for 2014 will be released at the end of July... HURRY JULY!

I've been checking all week but still nothing. I don't know why I'm so ready for the new rates to come out I still can't make up my mind which resort to stay at so it's not like I would book right away anyway. But still hopefully something will happen next week.

I was playing on the site last night and the box to "chat" with a CM came up, so I asked him/her about 2014 rates. He said I could call and get a quote, but that there isn't anything online yet. Of course, it was too late to call last night, and I haven't had a moment yet this morning to call???

The Disney Food blog posted an article which states that the price of the dining plan has increased. I have to wonder if this is one of the reasons that we haven't seen the new 2014 package prices yet. My uncle did say that sometimes he walks into work and promo's have started earlier then they were originally scheduled to. I am hoping they are out sooner but historically we book our January trip at the start of August.

Looking at the booking dates per MouseSavers:

August 2, 2009 for 2010 packages
August 8, 2010 for 2011 packages
June 12, 2011 for 2012 packages
July 11, 2012 for 201 packages

I am hopeful that they will be released sooner rather than later.

The biggest thing I'm worried about is that I can't book my package by the time the 180+10 day window for ADRS would open up. For me, that would be August 1st.
