Any Rumors of Extending the Be Our Guest Breakfast? Update: July, Aug, Sept, Oct 1-3 NOW AVAILABLE!!

I had a CM search for lunch ADRs for our November trip a few days ago. Obviously there were none:)....BUT, he told me to keep my ears open for the breakfast offering to be extended for our travel dates, that it was only testing at the moment, but likely to continue to be offered. I realize it's not official, but thought I'd share my experience.

I really hope they extend it. I check daily!! I have a lunch for Sept 4th but am hoping for breakfast on the 2nd.. The breakfast meal looks better to me than the lunch, but we would keep them both.

Nice! I forgot to update myself on when BOG lunch FPs ended so I didn't book my BOG lunch when my 180 opened :(. Week later found out and am trying to book any of our 3 planned MK days but no luck. Really hoping for breakfast to be extended to our Nov 11-18 trip.

Also, this thread is the first I've heard about rumors of BOG going all TS. I agree the move makes complete business sense but I hope they keep it as is, it's nice for those who normally wouldn't be able to visit BOG to be able to grab a lunch there and experience it. I'm usually on the dining plan but only go for lunch, I have no interest in using a TS there when there are SO MANY amazing TS options at WDW I haven't experienced yet.

I think they could offer a character type meal, but leave it CS. If they had a photo op with any of the BATB characters, Mrs. Potts and Chip, maybe? or Beast like at dinner, I bet that place would be filled for breakfast. Right now, the only time that is a "good" time for breakfast in pre park opening, and with no requirement for ordering food, thee is no incentive for people to commit to this place. Add a character meet, one who is not circulating, but is stationary, keep the rotation a mystery...so there is no "best" time to book your ADR, and I bet that place would be filled from 8AM to close.

The problem with that is kicking people out other wise some will hang out waiting for the next character.

They spent a lot of $$ to make it a QS lunch spot and on the technology

1) All that technology can EASILY be used within a TS environment.
. . . quick check-in
. . . advance ordering, reducing SERVERS
. . . increased table turnover, as advance ordering reduces the time to review menu, order food, and get food
2) WDW is trying to find ways to reduce labor and other costs. *
3) Such technology a BoG would GREATLY reduce the amount of labor needed at other TS eateries, and easily put into place at other eateries.
4) Remember, Disney does NOTHING just for the guests, unless there is an economic payback for Disney.

* Good examples are . . .
. . . Internet Resort Check-In reducing Front Desk personnel
. . . Elimination of photo packages at character meals makes people buy MM and saves 5-8 people at each meal time (photogs, cashiers, etc)
. . . Reduction of menu options/substitutions reduces kitchen staffing, food waste, and food inventories
. . . Magic Bands to reduce gate labor and speed check-out times at registers
. . . going to Internet Dining ADR's eliminated LOTS of phone ressie cast memebers

1) Yep.
2) One of the main reasons why ADR's at some character meals are always behind schedule.
3) Some CM's even suggested allowing character attendants use cattle prods as Magic Wands to move people along.

Yes, there is that! I wonder if you could schedule the photo op as you enter, much the same as Belle at Akershus, and Cinderella at CRT. You get in, get your photo, or miss your ARD.

LOL! I think they need the prod at the self ordering kiosk at BOG, I would have used it myself on the inept folks in front of us last Fall. Despite multiple offers to help from various CM's these two insisted on fumbling around.

1) There are major expenses in adding characters.
. . . each character requires ONE HANDLER (a handler covers both CM's)
. . . each character requires TWO CM's (one on-stage, one replacement)
. . . character costumes, laundry, upkeep
. . . people stay at their tables longer, so Table-Turns are reduced, and so is the revenue
2) If left as a QS, it would be an added cost without added revenue.
3) Disney does not add costs without added revenue.

THere you go again....being reasonable! LOL!!

Definitely hope breakfast becomes a permanent (and continues as QS) option in the future. We were on DDP last year, and had dinner at BOG, which I loved and DH was not convinced by. We're on QSDP next summer as we're staying at a moderate this time, and will pay OOP for a couple of TS meals, but I really hope to save the money on BOG and be able to use a credit! :)

I think counter service breakfast is a great option. I think it could entice guests away from Cinderella's Royal table though. I don't see them adding characters to a counter service meal. Character dining is a big selling feature and Be Our Guest is already booked solid. Can you imagine the craziness of trying to get reservations then?

But it isn't booked solid for breakfast. Once the park hours changed to mostly 8:00 a.m. openings, the ADRs for BoG breakfast plummeted. That is why everyone is "dreaming" and theorizing what they might do with it after the test breakfast that looks like it closes July 18.

We are going for two weeks in August and the only day MK opens at 8:00 am is Thursday for EMH am I missing something?

Most of June, Mon-Thur are all at 8:00, but they weren't originally. When the time change came out, people dropped their BoG "pre-opening" ADRs because they were no longer that.

I'm hoping it continues as a QS breakfast too! The reason I started the thread is to hopefully get a jump on the crowds if this happens. We're going in September and would love to book a breakfast here our first morning. What a great place to start our trip! We're now just 5 1/2 weeks out from the end of the test period so I'm anticipating (and let's be honest....hoping!) that we hear something soon!!

I'm hoping they open up breakfast also. I have no interest in breakfast but would like to try lunch so my thinking is if they open up breakfast people will cancel lunch and I can get a lunch ADR. :)

I already have lunch and dinner booked for August I want to add breakfast and do the BOG Trifecta we would try to eat in every room also. I know silly but we like to add silly things to our vacations.
