Any rumors of an AP deal?

Seems like every 2-3 years, they have offered a special deal on the Premium Annual Pass (Do y'all remember the $399 one? That was the best ever!). I wonder with the discounting going on with the new after 12 tickets and FL incentives if they'll have another offer in the works...

There have been a few times since I became a DVC member in 2009 where we were given AP deals...getting discount ones, Premium Plus for the price of Gold and one time, it was like an extra few months?

They had the 13 month deal a few years ago. Then in late 2017 they had the platinum plus for the price of gold deal, which I refer to as the "no need to check out the shiny new volcano bay just down the street" promotion. Definitely no complaints though; got to go for NYE last year without having to pay the difference for platinum.

I think it’s coming soon. Disney just announced specially priced WDW tickets and resorts for US Military Members for 2020.

Most likely one will be offered if Galaxy's Edge does not increase more ticket sales to the theme parks. If the second ride Rise of the Resistance opening December 5 and the new Star Wars Movie - The Rise of Skywalker coming out December 20, 2019 does not generate more bookings next year, then most likely there will be an offer before Disney's 50th - which is October 1st, 2021. There will be a gap.

After going the past year - multiple times due to the last annual pass offer - Platinum for the Gold price, the prices of food and everything has gone up in price. My large Mickey Waffle at Contempo Cafe at breakfast was $6.99 a couple of years ago. Now it is $9.99. Mickey Bars are now $5.75. I remember they were under $4.

Yes, Galaxy's Edge was cool, but there was only 1 ride, and the rest were shops and restaurants.

We are definitely take least a year or two off after our annual pass expires.

The wife and I have really been looking at our annual Disney Trip costs, and it's getting a lot easier to skip a year at WDW, rent our points out and go some where else and probably save $2000 to $4000.

We have gone in 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, and a planned trip in 2020, but might skip 2021. With our youngest turning 3, we now have to add an additional $2000-$3000 for tickets, airfare, and food to our budget. It adds up to almost $8000 to $10,000 annual. The 2015 trip only cost us $6000 and that was in a Poly cash room.

No downside that I see. I do this all the time. I buy through undercover tourist. Then I upgrade when there once I enter to bridge to current gate price.

and bottled water/sodas went up like 50% overnight last year. They were either $3 or $3.5 and went to $4.50.

One of the unspoken beauties (for disney) about the dining plan is that the people that are on it are completely price insensitive so they do not tend to notice pricing. In fact, high prices might have the effect of making people on the dining plan feel even better about being on the dining plan b/c they'll see how much the plan is "saving" them.

I've only been going for the last almost 4 years and I'm shocked at how much EVERYTHING has gone up in prices. It's quite insane.

I hope those of you who are predicting an AP deal soon are correct! We have been holding off on buying tickets or AP’s with the hopes that we they will offer a deal. We purchased AP’s with the PPAP for the cost of the GAP deal a couple of years ago. I wish that deal or really any AP deal would come back!

My AP runs out January 6. I am not planning on going to the parks between now-January.

I do not want to renew but I plan on purchasing Gold DVC and use in September.

If an AP deal magically becomes available before January 6, would I be able to purchase a new
AP "voucher" and then activate it in September?

IF they offer one you probably wouldn't be able to save it that long. Last time they offered it you had to activate if before December of 2018 (offered in fall of 2017)

that's what they said -- but I squirreled an extra one of those as a test case and didn't have any problems activating it in July 2019. When the voucher was on my account, it stated it was good until 2030 -- so my advice is to squirrel them away if you can afford the upfront costs. Caveat would be to make sure that the voucher shows 2030 expiration before buying multiple.

No 'inside' information, but I can't see one happening before the year's end. I think RoR has to open before they do anything, and if that does not offer the attendance bump they are hoping for then perhaps....

They have a lot opening in the next 2 years.

That is 3 E ticket attractions which to me seems like a lot in 2 years so they have a lot to generate draw, but also a lot to make people wait.

I hope I'm wrong and one is on the horizon!
