Any rumors/news about the HS icon?

I thought it would be cute for our next trip (Spring Break) if we each had a tshirt with a park icon. 4 parks, 4 of us. Me - Tree of Life, DH - Spaceship Earth, DD - Cinderella's castle, DS - ???

Any ideas? Will it still be the hat, back to the Earful Tower, something new?

i would assume that they would not put anything new up that quickly so i'd do the earful tower.
plus i think disney has been hinting to the removal of the hat and a return to the earful tower as the park icon since at least the beginning of this year cuz they made at least one souvenir that features the earful tower as HS's icon.

I agree with the above two responses -- Earful Tower appears to be where it's at. Makes sense, being that it was the "logo" pre-hat.

One can dream that the new one will be something else, though. Perhaps:
- GMR
- An Old-School Camera
- Rod Serling's Face

All they have to do is move it to in front of the entrance (where the Christmas tree is now) and it can still be the park icon.

It could be saved in moved but isn't expected to do so they are expected to used the earful tower as the icon from now on as the park undergoes a massive 1+ billion dollar transformation.

If you happen to be a fan of the hat, just use it and consider it "retro." Otherwise, sounds like you'd be safe to use the Earful Tower. I've seen some other souvenirs this year that already included the tower rather than the hat (in addition to that ornament above, which is pretty cool).

I have no basis for saying this, but I do not anticipate them adding any new "icon" to DHS to replace the hat. I have seen several questions/comments on various boards about what Disney might use to replace the hat in its current location, and I don't think that is the point at all. The hat just goes away, and an old icon is revived (even if the old one never actually went away!).

The backlot tour can't not be destroyed that would be a very wasteful use of space. The backlot tour is going goodbye and the earful tower will be likely moved, it's a fake tower not that difficult to move.
