I'm just wondering, with the opening of the new Spice Table restaurant whether or not Morocco can support 3 restaurants. It seems Marakesh was a walk-up most of the time anyways. Any rumors of closing it and using that space for something else?

It was an odd addition for sure. I don't think anyone was walking around the Morocco pavilion thinking "they sure could use another dining option here". If they added another dining option in Canada (how about a CS option where we can get the cheese soup and pretzel bread?!!!)...that would have been a lot more understandable.

Still, I doubt they will close Marrakesh. A possible refurb with a redesigned menu maybe, but not a full closure.

I don't think the addition of Spice Road spells doom for Restaurant Marakesh. When the Hacienda was added to Mexico, they still kept San Angel Inn. When Via Napoli was added to Italy they still kept Tutto Italia. When Tutto Gusto was added to Italy they still kept Tutto Italia.

Spice Road, being a tapas type of place fits a nice niche market.

I was just there and Marrakesh is in serious need of a renovation(bathrooms, etc.) maybe this will give them a break yo do that. Many other countries have 3 restaurants so I think that will probably be fine if this is more of a walk-up sir down option.

It sounds like a good idea, but they should keep that middle eastern marketplace feel to it.

If love to see one that has a more upscale but modern feel, like Jiko. Concentrate on Moroccan dishes and add some Spanish influences
