Any rumor when 2014 dates come out?

Ok how could that happen?? Haven't heard of this before.

is there any way to book opening day and take advantage of an on board booking when we sail a few months later?

Which would be better if we had to pick one? If there is a NYC cruise, we'll likely be trying that as New York is driving distance for us and/or pretty cheap for round trip train.

You can book opening day and then reshop the cruise onboard.

Trust me.....it does.................read about what went down last year about this time for the Oct 21,2012 cruise this year.....and than the "BRAIN WORKS" at DVC changed it to Sept 16, 2012.Here it is. http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2785818
And it is in the making to happen again ,next year, Sept 29,2013 , DREAM cruise....go to their cruise meet site, and read the last ...say 5 pages.

IMO, I think DCL purposely does not pre announce the DVC date. They open reservations and whichever date has the most pathetic demand... becomes a DVC cruise - creating instand demand.

They're smart like that.

Money talks, and if you notice the DVC cruises are more expensive than similar cruise itineraries on DCL.

DCL has chartered out their ships to others besides DVC in the past, and the same thing happens. The cruise is cancelled and those booked already are rebooked to another date.

So, I am sure DVC approaches the cruise line seeking to charter the ship after the itineraries are released, as would anyone else seeking to charter a cruise.

All the more reason for DCL to release their itineraries earlier than they have been. Come on, give us 2014 dates!!! LOL!

I do not think that is correct........because all the non-DVC members get "booted" off the ship and their money back. The DVC members that have already booked , get to stay. And of coarse the cruise goes up in price.......someone has to pay for all those DVC member cruise perks that you recieve.

I think it is time for DCL to "farm out" their next years cruise Itineraries to another company, look all the other cruise ship companys have there new cruise listing out already...........DCL....so so slow........do they know what a "PINK SLIP" looks like? I would back up the truck in a heart beat and clean house.

I've never been on a DVC cruise. What are the perks?

Just jumping on board this thread. Just gave my cc# to a travel agent today (not sure if we can mention specific agencies on this forum).
I am hoping to book April 26th, 2014 Fantasy. Supposedly, if they have your card on file, this can expedite the booking process on the day it actually opens.
The wait is officially on for us!

We will be celebrating our 20th anniversary. We decided to take the children. Our youngest son (6) has T1 diabetes. So far, no one in our families has proven themselves capable of caring for this complicated disease. So we shall bring our children on our 20th anniversary trip! Hoping for some quality alone time however. Remy and Palo here we come!:goodvibes

Just sayin'....

when you go to the disney cruise site and click "find a cruise" a highlighted box shows up under the 2013 for just a brief nano-second.....

It's aggravating DCL takes this long to get 2014 out. Other lines have them out through at least April (though they don't have their 2014 AK published yet).

You & me both & a lot of others as well. Last year the first wave came out in October. Some one posted they heard not until next year . but at this point who knows...???
Just got off the Fantasy today and sorry to say both the Concierge staff and the future cruise sail bookings desk agents said that they were expecting to announce this month, but now it looks like it will be delayed until winter (possibly Jan).

They said there are a few things that need to be ironed out before announcing... hoping new ports...
